Junior Hindi Translator:

Essentials for IGIB project vacancy:

  • MA from a recognised University in Hindi with English/English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. or
  • MA from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English/ with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level. or
  • MA from a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. and
  • Hindi to English and vice versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central Government or State Government office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge at the level of Matriculation of a recognized Board of one of the languages other than Hindi mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
  • BA or PGDT in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa from a recognized Institute/University.

Duration for IGIB project vacancy:

  • The selected candidate will be on probation for two years from the date of taking over charge of the post.
  • The probationary period may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
  • After completing the probationary period, he/she will be considered for confirmation under the extant rules.

Age Limit (As on 17 December 2023): 30 Years

Age Relaxation:

  • The upper age limit is relaxable by five years in the case of SC/ST and by three years in the case of OBC(NCL) candidates for the posts reserved for the respective categories.
  • Relaxation of the upper age limit for Ex-servicemen will be applicable as per GOI rules. [SC/ST/OBC(NCL) candidates applying against unreserved posts will not be eligible for age relaxation].
  • Age relaxation to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities [PwBD]: An age relaxation of 10 years is allowed [a total of 15 years for SCs/STs and 13 years for OBC (NCL) to the posts reserved for them].
  • The upper age limit is relaxable up to 05 years for the regular employees working in Council/ Government Departments/Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings under the instructions and orders issued by the Government of India/CSIR from time to time.

IGIB project vacancy: 01 Post(UR)

Salary Details: Pay Matrix Level-6 Rs. 35,400-1,12,400/-month

Centre of Written Examination: The written examination will be held in Delhi’s National Capital Region (NCR). The written examination’s date, time, and venue will be communicated to the candidates well in time through the CSIR-IGIB website and email, as they provided in their application form.

Selection Process:

  • Selection will be based on the open written competitive examination.
  • Two papers will be for the Jr. Hindi Translator post (Paper I and II).
  • Paper II will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks (to be determined by the Selection Committee) in Paper I.
  • The Final merit list will be prepared only based on the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper II.
  • Paper I will be OMR Based on Computer Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination, while Paper II will be descriptive type.
  • The Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination questions will be in English and Hindi.

Paper-I (Time Allotted- 1hour):



  • General Intelligence: 50 Questions, 150 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions, 75 Marks
  • General Awareness: 25 Questions, 75 Marks

Note:

Three marks for every correct answer. One negative mark for every wrong answer.

Paper-II (Time Allotted-2 hours):

  • This paper assesses the candidates’ writing and translation skills necessary for this job.
  • The paper would comprise writing a paragraph in English and Hindi separately.
  • Precis writing in English and Hindi and translation from English to Hindi and Hindi to English.
  • The total marks in the Paper–II exam would be 300, and the time allotted for this exam would be 2 hours.

  • Rs.500/- as per the fee payment Procedure’ available on the website.
  • No fee is payable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/CSIR Employees/Ex-Servicemen/Abroad candidates.
