About DRDO DFRL: The Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) under the aegis of Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt of India is engaged in the R&D activities to cater to the food requirements of the Armed Forces deployed at extreme environmental conditions. The main focus of the laboratory is on carrying out cutting-edge research in the field of Food Science and Technology, which comprises research work in the areas of development of long shelf life ready-to-eat convenience foods, preservation of foods using various processing techniques, development and evaluation of newer food packaging materials, analysis and development of test kits for the detection of food spoilage and development of various functional, performance enhancing and stress reliving foods based on natural plant materials. Detailed Eligibility – DRDO DFRL Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Essential:
- Ph.D in Food Processing Engineering / Food Engineering & Technology / Food Engineering [or]
- M.Tech in Food Processing Engineering /Food Engineering & Technology / Food Engineering with three years of research experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal
Desirable:
- Preference will be given to those with experience in computational modelling and simulation in Food Engineering and Process Optimization.
Duration: The tenure of a Research Associate is only for two years
Age Limit (As on 10 May 2024): 35 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
Stipend: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA as per DRDO rules
