The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) NET Exam 2023 notification announced for the posts of Subject Matter Specialist ( SMS )/Senior Technical Officer ( STO ) in various disciplines. There are 195 vacancies are available for the posts. Candidates with the qualification of M.Sc are eligible to apply. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online. About ASRB: The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established with the approval of the Cabinet on 1 November 1973 as an independent recruitment agency in pursuance of the recommendations of the Gajendragadkar Committee. The Government of India has approved the restructuring Board as per their decision in the meeting of the Union Cabinet held on 1 August 2018 and issued vide Notification No. 25/CM/2018(i) dated 06.08.2018; Case No.213/25/2018 (Item-7). The decision has been formally notified in the GOI Gazette on 9 August 2018.

Selection Process of ASRB NET Exam 2023:
The selection process includes an Examination/Interview.
Examination:
- The examination shall have one paper of 150 marks with all multiple choice objective questions to be attempted in 2 hours (Two hours), from the respective disciplines opted by the candidate.
- The Examination will be conducted in an Online format at the designated Centres.
- The questions of the Examination will be available in bilingual form i.e. Hindi and English medium.
- The answers are to be indicated on the Computer itself during the Examination.
- 1/3 of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the examination (Objective Type).
- There will be no rounding off of fractions of marks.
- The candidates who obtain the following minimum qualifying marks in the online (CBT) examination shall be called for an interview in a ratio of 1:5 for each post.
- However, the Board reserves the right to fix/ revise the qualifying marks and ratio in any or all disciplines at its discretion.
Interview:
- The candidates will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased experts in the respective disciplines, who will have before them a record of his/her career.
- The object of the interview is to assess his/her suitability for the post for which he/she has competed.
- The interview is intended to supplement the written examination for testing the general and specialized knowledge and abilities of the candidate.
- The candidate will be expected to have taken an intelligent interest not only in his/her own state or country but also in the modern current of thought and in new discoveries, which should rouse the curiosity of well-educated youth.
Maximum Marks:
- STO/SMO Examination (Objective Type): 150 marks
- Interview: 30 marks
NET Examination:
- There will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (Two) hours.
- Each question carries one mark.
- These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
- 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET-2023.
- There will be no rounding off of fractions of marks.
- The Board reserves the right to fix/ revise the qualifying marks in any or all Disciplines at its discretion.
