TNPSC Group 4 Exam 2025: The Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission conduct the TNPSC Group 4 Exam to recruit Junior Assistants, Typists, Village Administrative Officers (VAO) Officers, and Steno-Typist every year. The minimum qualification to appear for this exam is 10th standard. The TNPSC Group 4 Exam is conducted offline, followed by document verification. The candidates’ postings or departments are purely based on the merit list. TNPSC Group 4 Exam will be conducted on 12 July 2025.  Candidates are to be posted in the following Services.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission:

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is the authority that conducts the recruitment examination every year. There will be a lot of group examinations, Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV etc, under the TNPSC board. Each group examination will have a different educational qualification, examination and Selection Procedures. The medium of examination will be in Tamil and English. There will be a reservation for opting for sports quota, ex-servicemen quota, physically challenged, and preference for candidates who studied in the Tamil medium. Even if the candidates have not studied Tamil medium or have not studied Tamil as a subject in their qualification, they can write TNPSC in English. TNPSC will offer job opportunities to candidates with at least 10th to UG, PG and other qualifications. Candidates who are final-year graduates can also apply for TNPSC Recruitment.

Education Qualification:

VAO (Village Administrative Officer)/Junior Assistant(Non–Security & Security):

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification

Junior Assistant:

• Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation Ltd: SSLC Pass (10th Pass) OR
• Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation Ltd: Minimum General Educational Qualification

Junior Revenue Inspector:

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification

Junior Executive (Office):

• A degree from a recognized University or Institution
• Must have passed in Co-operative Training
• Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu
• Note: Candidates who possess a Degree (or) Diploma in Computer Science (or) Computer Engineering (or) Computer Application (or) Information Technology (or) Software Engineering (or) Computing (or) Computer Information System (or) Computer Design approved by the University Grants Commission / All India Council for Technical Education/ Directorate of Technical Education (or) an equivalent body shall not be required to acquire the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation.

Junior Assistant cum Typist:

Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies:

• Must possess a degree of a recognized University
• Must have passed Typewriting Higher in English and Lower in Tamil or Typewriting Higher in Tamil and Lower in English

Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority:

• A Degree granted by any of the Universities or Institutions recognised by the University Grants Commission / All India Council for Technical Education.
• Should have passed Government Technical Examination in Typewriting in English Higher Grade and atleast Lower Grade in Tamil.
• Must pass Computer Office Automation Examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
• Note: Candidates who possess a Degree (or) Diploma in Computer Science (or) Computer Engineering (or) Computer Application (or) Information Technology (or) Software Engineering (or) Computing (or) Computer Information System (or) Computer Design approved by the University

• Must pass in the Computer Office Automation Examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board:

• A degree from a recognised University or Institution
• Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Personal Clerk:

• A degree from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting both by higher / senior grade in Tamil and English; and
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand both by higher / senior grade in Tamil and English Provided that, if candidates with the qualifications referred to in items (2) and (3) above are not available, candidates who have passed the following examinations in the order of preference indicated below will be considered for selection namely;
• Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Lower / Junior Grade.
• Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Lower Grade.
• Certificate course in Computer on Office Automation awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education

Assistant:

• pass a Bachelor’s Degree
• Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu

Field Assistant: A pass in 10th Standard or SSLC

Forest Guard:

•  A pass in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, or Botany as one of the subjects.
• Other things being equal, preference shall be given to persons who have been discharged from the Army Service (Land Force

Forest Guard with Driving Licence:

• A pass in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, or Botany as one of the subjects.
• Must possess a valid driving licence issued by the competent Transport Authority.
• Must possess a certificate from a reputed firm or company to the effect that the candidate possesses experience in driving Light Motor Vehicles / Heavy Motor Vehicles for not less than three years after getting the driving licence.
• Must possess basic knowledge about the general mechanism of automobiles.
• Must possess a first aid certificate issued by a recognised organisation in Tamil Nadu

• The selection process is based on the written test.
• The question paper contains 200 questions for 300 marks for 3 Hours.
• The questions on General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil, and the questions
  on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages.
