Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in informatics for life sciences
2+ years of experience in data engineering or scientific computing roles.

Preferred Skills & Expertise:

Strong programming skills in Python and R; working knowledge of Java and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Practical experience with cheminformatics, bioinformatics workflows and demonstrated experience using tools like Nextflow/Snakemake.
Experience working with container technologies, Linux HPC systems and cloud services.
Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain data pipelines for ingesting and processing scientific data.
Develop workflow scripts and automate data processes using tools like Nextflow or similar workflow engines.
Support pipeline optimisation, monitoring, and troubleshooting on Linux HPC/cloud environments.
Work with scientists and data scientists to understand data needs and deliver usable solutions.
Follow data engineering best practices: version control, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
