SSC CGL 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 for filling up various Group โ€œBโ€ and Group โ€œCโ€ posts. There are a total of 12,256 vacancies (Approx) available for these posts. Candidates with Any Degree qualifications can apply for these posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on or before 22 June 2026. The detailed eligibility and application process for SSC CGL 2026 Exams are below.

Assistant Audit Officer (Central Cadre):ย 

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited University or Institute.
  • Desirable Qualifications:ย Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics

Assistant Audit Officer (State Cadre):

  • Essential Qualifications:ย 
    • Bachelorโ€Ÿs Degree from an accredited University or Institute.
    • Proficiency in the Regional/official language of the State, i.e. ability to read, write, speak and understand the language with proficiency at matriculation level. Candidates must possess a certificate of proficiency in the Regional/official language of the State concerned at the level of Secondary School Examination from a recognised State/Central Board ofย ย Education.
  • Desirable Qualifications:

Statistical Investigator Grade II:

SSC Jobs 2026 โ€“ Selection Process:

The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two tiers as indicated below

  • Tier-I & Tier-II

Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination

  • This Exam consists of 100 questions for 200 Marks. The total time duration is 60 minutes.
  • Tier-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions.
  • The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer
  • Time allowed โ€“ (1 hour and 20 minutes (with sectional timer of 15+5=20 minutes for each subject)

Tier-II: Computer Based Examination

  • This examination was conducted for 180 minutes
  • Tier-II will include conducting of Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper III in separate shift(s)/ day(s).
  • Paper-I is compulsory for all the posts.
  • Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II in the office of Registrar General of India (M/o Home Affairs) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these Posts.
  • Paper-III will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
  • Tier-II (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper โ€“ III) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Section-IV of Paper-I. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Language and Comprehension Part in Section-II of Paper-I.
  • There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II & III.
  • Section-III of Paper-I i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature

Mode of Selection:

  • Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I; Section-I, Section-II & SectionIII of Paper-I of Tier-II, Paper-II & Paper-III of Tier-II Examination are as
    follows:

    • UR: 30%
    • OBC/EWS: 25%
    • All other categories: 20%
  • The maximum percentage of errors allowed (i.e. minimum qualifying standards) in Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination i.e. DEST are as follows:
    • UR: 20%
    • OBC/ EWS: 25%
    • All other categories: 30%
  • Based on the marks scored in Tier-I i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only

  • No application fees for Women/SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Service
  • For other candidates:ย Rs. 100/-
