SECL Careers – Educational Qualification:

Mining Sirdar in Technical & Supervisory Grade C:

Matriculate or equivalent Examination from any accredited Board of Examination. OR
Diploma in Mining Engineering of 03 years duration or Degree in Mining Engineering or other equivalent qualifications approved in that behalf by the Central Government from any recognized Institute.
Valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency (Un-Restricted) from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both Open Cast (OC) and Under Ground (UG) Mines or any other certificate of Competency in Mining which entitle the Candidate to work as Mining Sirdar as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 for working in both OC and UG Mines.
Valid Gas Testing Certificate.
Valid First Aid Certificate.

Dy. Surveyor in Technical & Supervisory Grade C:

Matriculate/10th or equivalent Examination from any accredited Board of Examination. OR
Degree or Diploma in Mining/Mine Surveying Engineering from any accredited Institute.
Surveyors’ Certificate of Competency (SCC) (Un-Restricted) granted under CMR’2017 or any other certificate in mining which entitle the applicant to work as Surveyor in mines as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017.

Assistant Foreman (Electrical) Technical & Supervisory Grade-C:

Matriculate/10th or equivalent examination passed from any accredited Board of examination.
Diploma or concerned and higher qualification (Minimum 3 years course) in Electrical Engineering from any Institute accredited by the Government.

Age Limit (As on 08 April 2026): 18 to 30 Years

Age Relaxation:

UR/EWS – No relaxation
SC/ST – 05 Years
OBC – 03 Years
Ex Servicemen (ESM) – Actual period of service rendered in defence services +3 years(6 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) Centre List & 8 years for SC/ST ESM) ,subject to maximum age of 50 years
Persons with Disabilities candidate (For the post of Assistant Foreman (Electrical) only)

Selection Process for SECL Careers:

The selection methodology will comprise a Computer-Based Test (CBT) only.
Personal Interview is discontinued in line with the Circular issued by Coal India Limited.
Candidates will be provisionally called to appear in the Computer Based Test (CBT) merely on the basis of their declaration regarding their eligibility as mentioned in the application form.
Scrutiny/ Verification of the claims of the candidate(s) supporting his/her eligibility for the post applied will be done post declaration of the result of the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Such scrutiny/ verification will be done only for those candidates who are provisionally selected as per the Merit List based on the CBT Score.
Computer-Based Test (CBT) will comprise objective-type questions with multiple-choice answers.
The Question Paper and instructions will be Bilingual (English/Hindi).
The CBT will consist of two sections (Section- ‘A’ & Section – ‘B’); Section-‘ A’ will comprise questions related to Technical Knowledge (Discipline related) with 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Section-‘B’ will consist of questions related to General Awareness/Aptitude and Knowledge of CIL/SECL with 20 multiple choice questions (MCQ).
Each question will carry 1 mark, and there is no penalty for a wrong answer.
No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions.
The result of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be published on the SECL website as early as possible after successful completion of the CBT.
The final merit panel will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Computer-Based Test.
