Detailed Eligibility – RGCB Jobs:
Educational Qualification:
Project Title: “Deciphering the role of novel reticulocyte surface proteins in Plasmodium vivax”, in the laboratory of Dr. Rajesh Chandramohanadas at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
Junior Research Fellow:
- The candidate must have a first class Post Graduate Degree in any branch of life sciences.
- The candidate should have qualified CSIR-UGC NET, DBT-BET, GATE etc.
- The candidate must have a decent knowledge and experience in one or more of the research areas such as molecular biology, cell biology or protein biochemistry.
- Desirable qualification: Prior experience in research involving cell culture, infectious agents and protein expression would be desirable.
Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable till termination of the project based on performance evaluation.
Age Limit (As on 15 April 2024):
- Below 28 years
Age relaxation of RGCB Jobs: Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

Project Title: “Molecular characterization of the cytopathic property of Chandipura virus to engineer an attenuated oncolytic vector”
Project: “Role of untranslated RNA length control in antioxidant & Inflammatory pathway in cardiac hypertrophy” of Dr. Sumayya Shahzad in the laboratory of Dr. Rakesh Singh Laishram at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
Project Associate – I
- Good Academic record with First Class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences.
- The candidate should preferably have a minimum of two-year documented experience in mammalian cell culture or handling laboratory animals and an in-depth knowledge in virology. Experience in experimental virology (virus culture, titration, in vivo challenge) and pathology although not mandatory would be preferred.
- The Candidate should have qualified National Eligibility Test–CSIR-UGC-NET/LS or GATE or DBT-BET/ ICMR/DST-Inspire Fellowship/JEST/JGEEBILS.
Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable till termination of the project based on performance evaluation.
