Detailed Eligibility – NALCO Jobs:
Educational Qualification:
Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET):
- A candidate with a prescribed full-time degrees in Engineering/Post-Graduation in the respective discipline:
- Mechanical – Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical – Degree in Electrical Engineering/Power Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Chemical – Chemical Engineering/M.Tech. in Applied Chemistry
- The candidates shall be eligible to apply for the position of GETs in the above discipline in NALCO, provided they have appeared in GATE-2025 in one of the following relevant GATE papers as specified below:
- Mechanical – Mechanical Engineering (ME)
- Electrical – Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Chemical – Chemical Engineering (CH)
Notes:
- Full-time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology with not less than 65% marks in aggregate for UR/EWS/OBC(NCL) and 55% of marks for SC/ST/PwBD category taking the average of all the semesters/years, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester/year by the Institute/University.
- The total maximum marks and total marks obtained for all years/semesters will be summed up to arrive at the aggregate percentage. No rounding off will be done and no weightage will be given to any particular semester or year
- Candidates in the final year of their Engineering degree may also apply. However, their candidature will be considered only if, he/she pass the said examination with requisite percentage of marks on or before the date of his/her personal interview
Age Limit (As on 22 January 2026): 30 years
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer), 10 years for PwBD: Unreserved (UR), 13 years for PwBD -OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 15 years for PwBD-SC/ST candidates.
- Ex-Servicemen and children/family members of those who died in the riots of 1984 will get relaxation as per the directives of the Government of India.
Salary for NALCO Careers:
- Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 40,000–3%–1,40,000/- during the one-year training period, with a starting Basic Pay of ₹40,000/-, irrespective of their previous experience or last drawn Basic Pay in any organisation.
- Upon successful completion of training i.e. subject to fulfilling the required performance-related/other criterion of the Company in force & amended from time to time, they will be absorbed as Assistant Manager at E1 grade in the pay scale of Rs. 60,000-3%-1,80,000/- with one additional increment.

Selection Process of NALCO Careers:
- NALCO shall utilise Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-2025(GATE-2025) marks for the recruitment of Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) in the above disciplines.
- Only the GATE-2025 mark is valid for this recruitment process.
- Based on the GATE-2025 marks and organisational requirements, candidates will be shortlisted for the personal interview.
- The eligible candidates will be called for the interview based on the qualifying marks secured in GATE 2025 discipline-wise, category-wise in the ratio of 1:10.
- The final selection of the candidates shall be based on the marks secured in GATE-2025 and their performance in the Personal Interview
- The weightages assigned to GATE marks and the Personal Interview are 90% and 10% respectively.

- For Others: Rs. 100/-
