Educational Qualification:
Assistants/Clerks (Civil Courts of the State of Jharkhand):
- Graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institution
- Knowledge of computer operation is essential

Selection Process of Jharkhand Court Vacancy
- The selection process will be based on Stenography, typing tests and interviews.
- The candidatesโ Stenography and Typing Tests will be taken first.
- Candidates qualified in Stenography and typing tests will be called for Personality tests/interviews.
- A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Stenography Skill Test and the Personality Test/Interview.
- 90 marks for the Stenography & typing test and 10 for the personality test & interview.
Stenography, Typing Test and Interview:
- One passage containing 400 words each in English for the post of English Stenographer will be provided for dictation as a trial.
- Before dictating the final shorthand passage to the candidates, the trial passage would be dictated at the same speed as the final passage.
- The trial passage would not be transcribed and considered for evaluation; it would only be used to check the efficiency of the audio and computer systems.
- After the lapse of five minutes of dictation of the trial passage, the final passage would be dictated by the same person, keeping in view the uniformity of speed.
- After the dictation of the final passage, thirty (30) minutes would be allowed for the candidates to go through the dictated passage and transcribe the same on the computer.
- Dictation of shorthand would be 05ย minutes @ 80 words per minute.
- A Typing test of 400 words would be taken separately after the transcription of the final passage on the computer for 10 minutes @ 40 W.P.M.
- Candidates are advised to continue typing (only for the typing test) for 10 minutes in full; in doing so, they might repeat the same text after completing the whole passage; if they can, that will be counted in deciding the speed.
- The Typing test would be qualifying.
