Detailed Eligibility for Jharkhand Court Vacancy:

Educational Qualification:

Assistants/Clerks (Civil Courts of the State of Jharkhand):

  • Graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institution
  • Knowledge of computer operation is essential
  • Candidates must be well acquainted with the computer application and know how to work on computers, with sound knowledge of typing on a computer (minimum typing speed of 20 w.p.m).

Age Limit ( As on 01 January 2024):

  • Must be 21 or above years of age but not more than the age of 35 years in case of Un-reserved & EWS category
  • 37 years in the case of B.C.-I and B.C.–II category
  • 38 years in case of female (Un-reserved, EWS, B.C.-I and B.C.-II)

Selection Process of Jharkhand Court Vacancy:

  • Group III- Numerical Ability and Reasoning Test including Mathematical test of Matric Standard (30 Marks)

Computer Skill Test: 

  • Computer Skill Test shall be qualifying in nature. The merit list of the candidates for the purpose of appointment may be prepared on the basis of a written test to be followed by a test for working on computers and knowledge of typing on computers and Interview.
  • Only the candidates getting the qualifying marks in the written test shall be called for Computer Skill Test and Interview.
  • The candidates will be asked to type a passage of 100 words @ 20 words per minute and to save the same on computer at the particular location.

Selection Process of Jharkhand Court Vacancy

  • The selection process will be based on Stenography, typing tests and interviews.
  • The candidates’ Stenography and Typing Tests will be taken first.
  • Candidates qualified in Stenography and typing tests will be called for Personality tests/interviews.
  • A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Stenography Skill Test and the Personality Test/Interview.
  • 90 marks for the Stenography & typing test and 10 for the personality test & interview.

Stenography, Typing Test and Interview:

  • One passage containing 400 words each in English for the post of English Stenographer will be provided for dictation as a trial.
  • Before dictating the final shorthand passage to the candidates, the trial passage would be dictated at the same speed as the final passage.
  • The trial passage would not be transcribed and considered for evaluation; it would only be used to check the efficiency of the audio and computer systems.
  • After the lapse of five minutes of dictation of the trial passage, the final passage would be dictated by the same person, keeping in view the uniformity of speed.
  • After the dictation of the final passage, thirty (30) minutes would be allowed for the candidates to go through the dictated passage and transcribe the same on the computer.
  • Dictation of shorthand would be 05  minutes @ 80 words per minute.
  • A Typing test of 400 words would be taken separately after the transcription of the final passage on the computer for 10 minutes @ 40 W.P.M.
  • Candidates are advised to continue typing (only for the typing test) for 10 minutes in full; in doing so, they might repeat the same text after completing the whole passage; if they can, that will be counted in deciding the speed.
  • The Typing test would be qualifying.
