IRMA Careers – Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

Trainee (Library):

Should possess a first-class Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized University.
Good Communication Skills in English, Basic working knowledge of IT and IT-related applications used in libraries, KOHA will be an added advantage.
Nature of Appointment:
- This traineeship is for one year, including three months’ probation.
- Based on the performance during probation, the contract will be extended for nine months (one year).
- After the confirmation, a minimum of six months of service is mandatory.

Role Description:

This pre-professional position involves learning library procedures, techniques, and skills under professional guidance.
Trainees can work in different library sections and learn library management techniques.
As the trainee progresses in professional ability and skills, he/she may be assigned increased professional responsibilities and supervisory responsibilities over non-professional employees’ work for particular assignments.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 26 years

IRMA Stipend: A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000/- shall be offered to the selected candidate.

Educational Qualification:

Research Fellow (GIS and Spatial Analysis):

Must have a degree in GIS/ Geography/ Agriculture/Environmental studies or related field with demonstrated capabilities in GIS, spatial data, and machine learning

Technical Skills:

Hands-on knowledge of QGIS/ArcGIS software and other tools
Strong understanding of geodatabases and geodatabase applications
Ability to work with vector and raster datasets
Familiar with GPS data collection and data management
Ability to use and edit shapefiles and geodatabases (personal, file, and enterprise)
Experience working with different coordinate systems, map projections, and datums
Familiarity with standard cartographic methods, theories, and principles
Exposure to designing, building, and testing geospatial datasets as a GIS Developer/Data Engineer or in a related technical role
Experience with Hydrological modelling, Land and soil change modelling, urban dynamics
Knowledge of queries and reasoning, measurements, transformations, descriptive summaries, optimization, and hypothesis testing for special analysis.
Knowledge and experience with data processing using PostGIS, Shape Files, Geodatabases, GDAL

Work Experience: Applicants with a minimum of 3 years of work experience

Required languages: Fluency in spoken and written English.

Role Description:

Assist the VKPL team in liaising with clients and government agencies
Work on obtaining, cleaning, and coding GIS data
Collaborate on research ideas with the professors and professionals associated with the VKPL and other research staff
Majority of work will be on spatial analysis, cartography, field staff support, and research and development
Provide independent data interpretation while effectively maintaining data documentation
Create and modify GIS datasets, manage and maintain legacy GIS datasets, develop and implement GISbased analysis
Develop and maintain geospatial data on desktop and mobile applications. Ensure data meets appropriate data accuracy and content standards for quality assurance and quality control
Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, determine and set job task priorities, and work with limited direct supervision
