Applications are invited from highly motivated and talented candidates for the recruitment of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project funded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The age limit will be 28 years. The salary will be Rs. 37,000/-. The selection will be based on interviews. Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS- www iacs res in recruitment) is an institute of higher learning in Kolkata. It was established in 1876 by Mahendra Lal Sarkar, a private medical practitioner. In May 2018, the Ministry of Human Resource Development announced that IACS had been granted the status of Deemed University. It is India’s oldest research institute. It only focuses on fundamental research in basic sciences. This institute is engaged in fundamental research in various fields of chemistry, chemical biology, and physics. Detailed Eligibility for IACS Kolkata recruitment:

Educational Qualification:

Title of the Research Project: 2D Materials for Efficient Energy Harvesting Applications

Junior Research Fellow:

Master’s Degree in Physics/Chemistry/Material Science/Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests–CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or JEST.
Selected through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc

Desirable Experience: Experience in Materials Science and Electrochemistry will be preferred

Duration: Initially one year and may be extended to three years based on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds

Note:

The position is purely temporary and on a contractual basis and renewable each year, subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
The position is co-terminus with the project. Candidates selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of IACS, provided they satisfy the eligibility criteria.

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable for certain reserved categories as per the Government of India rules

Stipend: Rs. 37,000/- (pm) + HRA (as applicable)
