High Court of Bombay at Goa Recruitment 2019 has released the job notification for the post of Shorthand Writer (Higher Grade), Junior Translator & Interpreter, Clerk, Cook for 34 vacancies. Candidates with the qualification of LLB/University Degree can apply for this job. The selection is based on the written test, typing test and viva voce. Eligible candidates can apply for this post through postal on or before 22 November 2019. The detailed eligibility and application process are given below.

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

For Shorthand Writer (Higher Grade):

  • Candidates should complete University Degree, preference being given to candidates possessing Degree in Law.
  • This condition of University Degree may be relaxed if the candidate is already working for not less than 5 years as Lower Grade Stenographer in the High Court
  • Qualify Government Commercial Certificate Examination Or Credible Institute for Speed of 100 words per minute in English Shorthand and 40 words per minute in English Typing.
  • Possess Computer Certificate as to proficiency in operation of Word Processor, M. S. Office, M. S. Word, Open Office Writer
  • Knowledge of Konkani.

For Junior Translator & Interpreter:

  • Candidates should complete University Degree in languages viz. English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarathi, preference being given to candidates who are holders of Degree in Law.
  • Are proficient in English and at least any two of the following languages viz. Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi and Konkani.
  • knowledge in operating Computer

For Clerk:

  • Candidates should complete University Degree, preference being given to the holders of Degree in Law.
  • Must have passed Government Commercial Certificate Examination or Examination conducted by Government Board or I.T.I. Or Credible Institute for English Typing with speed of 40 words per minute.
  • knowledge in operating Computer
  • Knowledge of Konkani

For Cook:

  • Candidates should pass at least IV Standard Examination.
  • Preference is given to candidates with higher qualifications
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in cooking
  • Knowledge of Konkani

High Court of Bombay at Goa Recruitment Selection Process:

For Shorthand Writer (Higher Grade):

Selected on the basis of examination in Shorthand, Typing and Viva Voce. Minimum passing marks for Shorthand Test and Typing Test will be 24 and 20 respectively

  • The shorthand and typing tests will be of 40 marks each
  • Viva-voce will be of 20 marks.

PART-I Dictation of two passages in English containing a total 500 words for transcription to ascertain the speed in shorthand 30 Mins
PART โ€“ II A passage in English containing 400 words for typing to ascertain the speed in Typing. 10 Mins
PART โ€“ III Viva voce.

For Junior Translator & Interpreter :

  • Selected on the basis of screening/written test and Viva Voce. Candidates passing the Screening Test alone will be eligible for appearing in viva voce

Pattern: [minimum passing marks 50]

  • General Grammar โ€“ 30 marks
  • Essay โ€“ 20 marks
  • Letter Writing โ€“ 10 marks
  • Translation from English to any of the two languages given in Clause โ€“ 40 marks

Viva Voce โ€“ 20 marks



For Clerk:

  • Selected on the basis of examination in screening/written test, Typing Test, Viva Voce.

Pattern:

  • Screening test: 90 marks (minimum passing marks 45) Duration: 1 hour
  • Typing test: 20 marks (minimum passing marks 10) Duration: 10 minutes
  • Viva voce: 40 marks

For Cook:

  • The eligible candidates will be required to undergo a cooking test.

Pattern:

  • Cooking Test [practical] โ€“ 30 marks (minimum passing marks 15)
  • Physical fitness โ€“ 10 marks
  • viva voce test โ€“ 10 marks

  • For Shorthand Writer (Higher Grade)/Jr Translator & Interpreter/Clerk: 500/-
  • For Cook: 200/-
