Department of Consumer Affairs: It is one of the two Departments under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. It was constituted as a separate Department in June 1997 as it was considered necessary to have a separate Department to give a fillip to the nascent consumer movement in the country.

Detailed Eligibility for Department of Consumer Affairs Careers:
Educational Qualification:
Sr.Young Professionals: LLM with at least 01 year experience or LLB with at least 3 Years’ experience.
Young Professional (Costing):
- Essentials: Chartered Accountant (inter)/ Cost accountant (inter) along with graduation in commerce.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in the relevant field.
Young Professional (P&C):
- Essential Qualification: Graduation in any stream
- Experience: Candidates who have worked in the Parliament section for at least 01 years and have a working knowledge of Parliamentary procedures will be preferred.
Young Professional (Estt.):
- Essential Qualification: Graduation in any stream with Good Computer Skills (proficiency in advanced MS Word, PPT and Excel] and Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience: One year of experience in the field of Human Resource Management/Admin.
Young Professional (NCH & E-Dakhil):
- Essential Qualification: Graduate in Law/Tech with at least 02 years of experience.
- Skills: The YP should have proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Young Professional (LM):
- Essential Qualification: Graduate with LLB degree.
- Skills: Good Computer Skills (proficiency in advanced MS Word, PPT and Excel) and Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Duration: Initially for one year, it can be extended.
Age Limit (As of 07 January 2024):
- Young professionals: Not exceeding 32 years
- Sr.Young Professionals: Not exceeding 35 years
