Banaras Hindu University, formerly Central Hindu College, is a public central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established jointly in 1916 by the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sunder Lal, and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant. Malaviya’s plan evaluated whether to seek government recognition for the university or operate without its control. He decided in favor of the former for various reasons. Malaviya also considered the question of the medium of instruction and decided to start with English given the prevalent environment, and gradually add Hindi and other Indian languages.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Staff Nurse:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute OR Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute OR Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) from recognized University or Institute.
- Registered as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with State Nursing Council, and
- Six Months experience in Minimum Fifty bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualifications mentioned above OR
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized Board or Council.
- Registered as Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with State Nursing Council
- Two and half years’ experience in minimum fifty bedded hospital after acquiring the educational qualifications mentioned at II (i) above.
- Desirable: Experience of working in Geriatric Medicine Unit.
Lab Technician:
- 12th in Science subject, and
- Graduate in Medical Laboratory (B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology)
- 2 year Diploma in MLT (DMLT) with 1 year experience in recognized institute/organization
- 1 year diploma in MLT with 2 years’ experience in recognized institute/organization
- Desirable: Experience of handling and testing clinical samples including ELISA and PCR, recording of information/knowledge of computer application/data management.
Physiotherapist:
- I. Sc.
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy/Physio-Occupational Therapy
- Desirable: 02years experience of working in a recognized Hospital or Institute Experience of working in Geriatric Medicine Unit
Occupational Therapist:
- I. Sc.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy/Physio-Occupational Therapy
- Desirable: 02 years experience of working in a recognized Hospital or Institute
- Experience of working in Geriatric Medicine Unit
Dietician:
- B.Sc. (Home Science) with Food Nutrition /Diploma in Nutrition or Dietetics in an Institution recognized by Govt.
- Desirable: Experience of working as dietician in a recognized Hospital or Institute
Medical Social Worker:
- Post Graduate degree in Sociology/Social Work (MSW) / Applied Sociology (MAS) from a recognized Institution.
- Desirable: 3 years’ Experience of working in a recognized Hospital or Institute/ rural area/community development work.
- Research Publication and project experience in Geriatric patients
Ward Sahayak:
- High School (10th Class Pass).
- One year experience as stretcher Bearer/Ward Sahayak/ Sahayika in a reputed hospital.
- Desirable: Experience of working in Geriatric Medicine Unit.
Age Limit:
- 18-30 years for general category
- 18-35 years for SC/ST
- 18-33 for OBC;
- 18-35 years for widows/divorced and women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried (40 years for SC/ST).
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be admissible as per BHU/Government of India rules & the decision of the Nodal Officer will be final.
Salary:
- Staff Nurse: Rs. 30,000/-
- Lab Technician: Rs. 24,000/-
- Physiotherapist: Rs. 30,000/-
- Occupational Therapist: Rs. 30,000/-
- Dietician: Rs. 30,000/-
- Medical Social Worker: Rs. 30,000/-
