Detailed Eligibility:

Education Qualification:

1) Senior Personal Assistant to the Principal:

  • Essential:ย 
    • A Bachelor Degree.
    • At least 03 years of experience working as a Private Secretary/ Personal Assistant/ Stenographer/ Executive Assistant/ Executive Secretary.
    • Skill test norms โ€“ Dictation:
      • 10 minutes at an average speed of 100 w.p.m.ย 
      • Transcription: 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi) on the computer.
      • Computer proficiency viz. Typing Skills, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, E-mail communication etc.
  • ย Desirable:
    • Degree/Diploma in Computer Application/Science.
    • Diploma in Office Management and Secretarial Practice.Knowledge of service rules applicable toย  Central Government establishments. ย 

2) Assistant: ( Any Graduate with good working knowledge of computers.)

3) Junior Assistant: A Senior Secondary School Certificate (I 0+2) OR its equivalent qualification. Having a typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi Typewriting through Computers.ย 

4) Library Attendant:ย 

  • Essential: Passed 10th OR equivalent examination & Certificate in Library Science/Library & Information Science.
  • Desirable: Computer as a secondary subject or Basic course in Computers.ย 

Age Limit(As On 01 May 2023):

  • Senior Personal Assistant to the Principal: 35 years.
  • Assistant: ย 30 years.
  • Junior Assistant: ย 27 years.
  • Library Attendant: ย 30 years.

Age Relaxation:

  • The limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years.
  • The limit is relaxable for OBC(NCL) by 3 years.
  • The limit is relaxable for PWD by 10 years.
  • The limit is relaxable for Ex-Servicemen and commissioned Officers, including ECO/SSCOs, by 5 years.
  • The upper age limit for Permanent Employees in Government Departments/Statutory or Autonomous bodies/Universities/affiliated or constitutional colleges under the University/Public Sector Undertakingsย  5 years or the number of years (in completed years).
  • The Upper age limit shall not be insisted upon for Departmental candidates of the University of Delhi and its colleges.ย 
  • The upper age limit will be relaxed to the extent of service rendered by them in the University of Delhi or its colleges, provided they have put in atleast one year of service, for Persons who are already working on a contract/daily wages/ad-hoc basis in the University of Delhi or its College(s).ย 

Salary: Pay Level as per 7th CPC.

Selection Process:

Senior Personal Assistant to the Principal:ย The selection process for Senior Personal Assistant to the Principal will be as follows.

  • Paper-I: MCQ Type: 150 questions for 300 marks(for each question, 2 marks) for 2 hours.
    • post concerned 50 questions.
    • General Awareness 25 questions.
    • Reasoning Ability 25 questions.
    • Mathematical Ability 25 questions.
    • Test of Language English or Hindi 25 questions.
  • Paper II: Descriptive Type: 200 marks for 3 hours.
    • ย Basic knowledge of the work profile โ€“ 100 marks (10 questions X 10 marks)
    • Situation Test analysis โ€“ 25 marks (200 words)
    • Knowledge of Computers โ€“ 25 marks
    • Essay โ€“ 50 marks (500 words)
  • Skill Test: The skill test shall be qualifying in nature, and no additional credits for the same shall be allocated.ย 

Assistant: The selection process for Assistant Post will be as follows.



  • Paper-I: MCQ Type: 150 questions for 300 marks(for each question, 2 marks) for 2 hours.
    • General Awareness 30 questions.
    • Reasoning ability 40 questions.
    • Mathematical ability 40 questions.
    • Test of Language English or Hindi 40 questions.
  • Paper II: Descriptive Type: 150 marks for 2 hours.
    • Basic knowledge of the Constitution of India &its political system -30 marks (3 questions x 10 marks)
    • Basic knowledge of theย  Higher Education Administration โ€“ 20 marks (2 questions x 10 marks)
    • Knowledge of Office Procedures, Rules & Regulations โ€“ 30 marks (3 questions x 10 marks)
    • English/Hindi skill โ€“ 20 marks (2 questions x 10 marks)
    • Situation Test essay โ€“ 25 marks (200 words)
    • Knowledge of Computersย  โ€“ 25 marks

Junior Assistant: The selection process for Junior Assistant Post will be as follows.

  • Paper-I: MCQ Type: 200 questions for 200 marks(for each question, 1 mark) for 3 hours.
    • General Awareness 50 questions.
    • Reasoning ability 50 questions.
    • Mathematical ability 50 questions.
    • Test of Language English or Hindi 50 questions.
  • Paper II: Essay & Comprehensive Test: 100 marks for 1.5 hours. (Essay, comprehension & letter writing).
  • Skill Test: The typing test shall be a skill test, which shall be qualifying in nature, and no additional credits for the same shall be allocated.

Library Attendant: The selection process for Library Attendant Post will be aย Written Test: 150 questions for 300 marks (for each question, 2 marks) for 3 hours.ย 

  • Library Aptitude 50 questions.
  • General Awareness 25ย  questions.
  • Reasoning Ability 25 questions.
  • Mathematical Ability 25 questions.
  • Test of Language English or Hindi 25 questions.

Notes:

  • The question paper should be bilingual (English and Hindi), and the applicant can respond in either language.ย 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for Paper I and Paper II or written test separately shall be 45% for the unreserved posts and 40% for the posts reserved for the OBC category, and 35% for the reserved SC/ST/ PwBD category.ย 
  • There shall be negative marking for wrong answers in Paper I to the tune of I/4th of marks allocated per question.ย 
  • The Merit list shall be drawn on the basis of combined scores of Paper I and Paper II only.ย ย 
  • The candidate having more marks in aggregate in the examination/degree/diploma, which is defined as the minimum eligibility for the respective post, will be given preference.
  • In case of further bunching/bracketing of candidates, the candidate is senior in age.
