WII Recruitment 2023 notification announced for Project Scientist/Project Associate/Other posts for the various projects purely on a contractual basis. There is a total of about 11 vacancies available for the above-mentioned posts. Candidates with the qualification of B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc/PhD are eligible to apply for the job. The institute is based in Dehradun, India. It is located in Chandrabani, which is close to the southern forests of Dehradun. WII carries out wildlife research in areas of study like Biodiversity, Endangered Species, Wildlife Policy, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Forensics, Spatial Modeling, Ecodevelopment, Ecotoxicology, Habitat Ecology, and Climate Change.

Educational Qualification:

Project: Monitoring of Wildlife Overpasses and Underpasses on Samruddhi Expressway Phase II

Duration: 5 Years

  • Project Scientist โ€“ II (Ecology):
    • Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized University. AND
    • Minimum three (03) years relevant experience post PhD.
    • Desired Qualifications:ย  Demonstrated experience/aptitude in a) spatial analysis and ecological modelling, b) statistical analysis, c) project design and coordination of multi-disciplinary project team and field data collection c) research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals.
  • Project Associate I(Ecology):
    • Essential Qualification: Mastersโ€™s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
    • Desired Qualifications: Candidate(s) with prior experience in camera trapping, sign surveys, distance sapling and vegetation surveys will be preferred. GIS, GPS, statistical analysis, and report writing knowledge is desirable. Should be able to undertake arduous field work in the human-dominated landscape of Maharashtra as well as forests.

Project: Understanding elephant conflict issues for suggesting conflict reduction measures (Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam)

Duration:ย One Year

  • Principal Project Associate (Ecology):
    • Essential Qualification:
      • Mastersโ€™s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. AND
      • 8 years experience after masterโ€™s degree with publications in peer-reviewed journals in relevant field. OR
      • Doctoral Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized University.
    • Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience/ aptitude in a) spatial analysis and ecological modelling, b) statistical analysis, c) project design and coordination of multi-disciplinary project team and field data collection c) research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals.
  • Project Associate โ€“ I (Ecology):ย

    • Essential Qualification: Mastersโ€™s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Environmental Sciences with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. AND
    • 8 years experience after masterโ€™s degree with publications in peer-reviewed journals in relevant field. OR
    • Doctoral Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Environmental Sciences from a recognized University.

Project: Supporting transboundary recovery in India and Nepal

Duration:ย Three Years

  • Project Associate โ€“ I (Project Management):
    • Essential Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
    • Desired Qualifications: Candidates with prior experience of Govt. office noting, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, eOffice and Tally will be preferred.
