West Bengal Police Recruitment 2021 – West Bengal Police has released the online job notification for recruitment to the post of Wireless Supervisor/Wireless Operator/Constable/Lady Constable/SI. There are 11045 vacancies are to be filled for this posts. Interested candidates who are all eligible for this recruitment can apply on or before last date. The educational qualification of the candidates must be B.E/B.Tech/PGDCA / B.Sc/BCA/M.Sc/MCA/Graduate/ Madhyamik/ Bachelor Degree/12th. West Bengal Police: It is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. The one in West Bengal Police and other is Kolkata Police. It was recognized under provisions of the Police Act 1861. It is headed by an officer designated as the Director-General of Police. Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) or equivalent Examination from any of the recognized Boards in Science with Physics and Mathematics.

Age Limit : 18 to 27  years

Selection Process:
  • By selection (direct recruitment) on the basis of the candidate’s qualifying in the Preliminary Examination (screening test) followed by the Physical Measurement Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Final Competitive Examination and Personality Test.

Preliminary Examination (Full Marks – 100) : 

  • Applicants provisionally considered eligible will have to appear in an MCQ based preliminary examination which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions having multiple choice (four choices) of answers carrying equal marks each. The duration of this examination will be 2 hours (two hours). Question paper will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali).

Physical Measurement Test:



  • The physical standards [height, weight and chest (for Male candidates only)] of the candidates will be tested by using electronic machines of those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination.

Physical Efficiency Test:

  • Candidates who qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET. Timing of an individual runner shall be taken with the help of Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology. Only one chance will be given for Physical Efficiency Test. The venues for PMT & PET will be decided by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, in due course.

Final Competitive Examination:

  • Candidates qualified in Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will have to appear
    in the Final Competitive Examination which will consist of 2 (two) papers of conventional type of questions.
  • The Written Examination for these 2 (two) papers of the Final Competitive Examination shall be held on the same day at selected centres to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board shall have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in all or any of the 2 (two) papers and also in the aggregate of the 2 (two) papers in the Final Competitive Examination.

Personality Test:

  • The final merit list of the provisionally selected candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Final Competitive Examination and the marks obtained in the Personality Test.

West Bengal Police Recruitment Selection Process for Software Developers:
  • The posts of Sub-Inspector/ Lady Sub-Inspector (UB) and Sub-Inspector (AB) in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up on basis of qualifying the Preliminary Examination which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
  • Preliminary Examination : (Full Marks – 200) :- Candidates provisionally considered as eligible will be called for a Preliminary Examination to be held in General Studies, Logical & analytical reasoning and Arithmetic with full marks of 200 (100 marks in General Studies having 50 questions, 50 marks in Logical & Analytical reasoning having 25 questions and 50 marks in Arithmetic having 25 questions), the duration of the examination being 90 minutes.
  • The preliminary examination will be a screening test for selection of candidates for the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
  • The preliminary examination will be an OMR based MCQ type written examination. The question paper will be set in two languages (English and Bengali).
  • Qualified candidates in the PMT only will be eligible to appear in the PET. The PMT & PET shall be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board at the venues selected by the Board for the purpose.
  • Final Combined Competitive Examination : (Full Marks – 200) :- The Final Combined Competitive
    Examination will consist of three papers. The written examination for all the above three papers of the Final Combined Competitive Examination shall be held on the same day at selected centres to be decided by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. The question paper for Paper – I (General Studies and Arithmetic) of Final Combined  Competitive Examination will be set in three languages (English, Bengali and Nepali).
  • The candidate may answer in any of these languages but all the answers must be in one and the same language. The syllabus for final combined competitive examination.
  • Personality Test : (Full Marks – 30) :- A limited number of the candidates selected merit-wise on the results
    of Final Combined Competitive Examination will be called on to appear at the Personality Test. Candidates’ ability to speak in Bengali will be tested in the Personality Test. The minimum pass mark for the personality test will be 08 (eight).
  • The posts of Constable/Lady Constable in the West Bengal Police shall be filled up on the basis of qualifying the Preliminary Written Test which will act as screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
  • Preliminary Written Test (Full Marks – 100) : – Applicants provisionally considered eligible will have to appear in an MCQ based preliminary written test which is qualifying in nature. The duration of the examination will be 1 (One) hour. Question paper will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali) except questions on English language.
  • A limited number of candidates will be called for Interview in accordance with merit. In the Interview, the
    general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested. On the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. Candidates’ ability to speak in Bengali will also be tested.
