West Bengal Police Recruitment 2019 has released the job notifications for the post of Staff Officer-cum-Instructor in Civil Defence Organisation for 125 vacancies. Candidates with the qualification of any degree within the age limit of 20 to 39 years can apply for this post. The selection process is based on the Preliminary Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Competitive Examination and Personality Test. West Bengal Police: It is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. The one in West Bengal Police and other is Kolkata Police. It was recognized under provisions of the Police Act 1861. It is headed by an officer designated as the Director-General of Police. The Police administration in the state is divided into three police zones and a Government railway police headed by an officer designated as the Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Educational Qualification:

Selection Process:

The selection process is based on the Preliminary Examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Competitive Examination and Personality Test

Preliminary Examination Pattern:

  • The preliminary examination will either be an OMR based MCQ type written examination or a Computer Based online test (CBT)
  • In case of OMR based examination, the question paper will be set in two languages (English and Bengali)
  • There will be NEGATIVE marking for each incorrect answer in the preliminary examination. ¼th of the allotted marks for a particular question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Final Competitive Examination: (FMarks – 350)

The final Competitive Examination will consist of three papers. Candidates need to give descriptive answers to questions asked.
Paper-I: General Studies and Arithmetic for 150 marks (100 marks for General Studies and 25 marks for Logical & Analytical reasoning and 25 marks for Arithmetic) of 2 hours duration.
Paper-II: English of 100 marks of 1½ hour duration.
Paper-III: Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali of 100 marks of 1½ hour duration.

Personality Test: 50 Marks
