WCL Apprentice Recruitment 2025: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has announced a notification for the Trade/Graduate/Technician Apprentices Posts. There are 1,213 vacancies available for these posts. Candidates with the B.E/B.Tech/ITI/Diploma/10th are eligible to apply for WCL Apprentice Jobs. Educational Qualifications:
Graduate Apprentice:
- Degree in Mining Engineering
Trade Apprentice (2-Year Course):
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 2 Year National/ State Trade Certificate in relevant trades
- Trades:
- Fitter
- Electrician
- Wireman
- Surveyor
- Draughtsman (Civil)
- Mechanist
- Turner
Trade Apprentice (1 Year Course):
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system and they must be in possession of 1 year National/ State Trade Certificate in relavant trades

- Computer Operator and Programming Assistant
- Welder (Gas and Electric)
- Mechanic Diesel
- Pump Operator Cum Mechanic
- Steno (Hindi)
Security Guard:
- Matriculation or equivalent under 10+2 system, passed from a recognised Board of Education

Duration: The duration of Apprentice Training shall be one year (12 Months) from the day of engagement as Apprentice Trainee.
Age Limit (As on 01 August 2025): 18 – 26 Years (That is, the Candidate/Applicant should have born on or in between 02/08/1999 to 02/08/2007)
Age Relaxation:
- Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates for the Slots/Seats reserved for them
- Candidates belonging to PwBD categories shall be given age relaxation up to 10 years (up to15 years for SC/ST and up to 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates

Selection Process for WCL Apprentice Careers:
- Provisional Short listing of Candidates for Scrutiny of Original Documents before joining as Apprentice Trainee will be done on the basis of the merit drawn wherein the number of shortlisted candidates will be 1.5 times to the notified opportunities in respect of different caste categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/UR.
- The candidates shall have to appear along with all original certificates/documents as per eligibility criteria notified in this Notification for scrutiny
- The date and venue for scrutiny shall be notified in the official website of WCL
Methodology for drawing merit:
All disciplines of Graduation/All disciplines of Diploma:
- Merit shall be drawn on the basis of the marks scored (As provided and declared under online application) by the applying candidates in their qualifying examination stream of Graduation/Diploma against which they are applying for Apprentice Training
- During scrutiny if it is found that the candidate had mentioned incorrect percentage/ Marks scored/ Maximum Marks while applying online his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled.
- The candidates under merit shall be arranged in the decreasing order of Marks scored keeping the highest scorer at the top and the lowest scorer at the bottom of the merit.
All disciplines of ITI Trades:
- The merit of respective trade comprising the applying candidates shall be drawn on the basis of the average of their passing percentage in matriculation and respective NTC/STC of respective trade corresponding to the post applied and desired qualification as provisioned under Table 1.
- The candidates under merit shall be arranged in decreasing order of average Marks scored (i.e. average of his/her passing score in Matriculation and Trade Certificate) keeping the highest scorer at the top and the lowest scorer at the bottom of the merit.
Security Guard (Optional Trade):
- The merit shall be drawn on the basis of their passing percentage in matriculation.
- The candidates under merit shall be arranged in the decreasing order of Marks scored keeping the highest scorer at the top and the lowest scorer at the bottom of the merit.
