Educational Qualifications for WCL Vacancy 2024:
ITI Passed Trade Apprentices:
- Computer Operator and Programming Assistant: ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT.
- Fitter: ITI in Fitter trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT.
- Electrician: ITI in Electrician trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Welder (Gas and Electric): ITI in Welder trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Surveyor: ITI in Surveyor trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Mechanic Diesel: ITI in Mechanic Diesel trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Wireman: ITI in Wireman trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Draughtsman (Civil): ITI in Draughtsman trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
- Mechanist: ITI in Mechanist trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT

Technician Apprentices: Full-time Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mining & Mine Surveying from Institutions duly recognised by UGC/AICTE/ State Govt. Central Govt.
Period of Training:
- For ITI Trade/Graduate/Technician Apprentices period of Apprenticeship Training shall be 12 months commencing from the date of the Contract of Apprenticeship.
- For Fresher Trade Apprentices period of Apprenticeship Training shall be, as specified in the Apprenticeship Rule.
Age Limit (As on 28 October 2024): 18 -25 Years
Age Relaxation:
- For OBC – up to 03 years
- For SC/ST – up to 05 years
Stipend Details:
- Trade Apprentices:
- One year ITI ( SCVT/NCVT): Rs. 7,700/- per month
- Two year’s ITI ( SCVT/NCVT): Rs. 8,050/- per month
- Fresher: Rs. 6,000/- per month or qualification based as prescribed in the Apprentices Rule 1992.
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000/-
- Technician Apprentices: Rs. 8,000/-

Selection Process for WCL Apprentice Careers:
Trade Apprentices:
- Candidates who are domiciled of the district, where the establishment is situated, shall be given first preference in each establishment during selection.
- The provisional selection shall be made from down the merit list prepared by each establishment based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e., relevant ITI examination/Educational Qualification.
- The eligible candidate shall be called for document verification at the concerned establishment office.
- The date, time and venue for document verification shall be intimated to the eligible candidates accordingly through the WCL website notice or by the registered E-mail address of the candidate.
- The final selection of the candidates in each seat shall be made after the verification of documents.
- After verification of documents and obtaining a medical fitness certificate, the candidates shall be selected for apprenticeship training.
Graduate/Technician Apprentices:
- The selection shall be made based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- The eligible candidate shall be called for document verification at the establishment office.
- The date, time and venue for document verification shall be intimated to the eligible candidates accordingly.
- The candidates would be required to furnish original documents and submit self-attested copies and soft copies thereof.
- The final selection of the candidates in each seat shall be made after the verification of documents and found fit in medical examination.
- After document verification and obtaining a medical fitness certificate, the candidates shall be selected for training, based on merit and an apprentice engagement letter shall be issued.
