TNPSC Group 4 Exam 2024: Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission conduct TNPSC Group 4 Exam to recruit Junior Assistants, Typists, Bill Collectors, Village Administrative Officers (VAO) Officers, and Steno-Typist every year. The minimum qualification to appear for this exam is 10th standard. The TNPSC Group 4 Exam is conducted offline, followed by document verification. The posting or the department of the candidates is purely based on the merit list. TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment will be conducted tentatively on 09 June 2024.  Candidates are to be posted in the following Services.

TNPSC Group 4 2024:

Details of new posts included in the existing Combined Civil Services Examinations Group IV published in the TNPSC Annual Planner 2024. TNPSC Group 4 Notification was announced on 30 January 2024, and the exam will be conducted on 09 June 2024. The additional posts to be recruited by the TNPSC Combined Civil Service Examination Group 4 are Junior Assistant, Junior Executive, Typist, Personal Assistant, Private Secretary, Steno Typist, Receptionist cum Telephone Operator, Milk Recorder, and Laboratory Assistant posts. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission:

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is the authority that conducts the recruitment examination every year. There will be a lot of group examinations, Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV etc, under the TNPSC board. Each group examination will have a different educational qualification, examination and Selection Procedures. The medium of examination will be in Tamil and English. There will be a reservation for opting for sports quota, ex-servicemen quota, physically challenged, and preference for the candidates studied in the Tamil medium. Even if the candidates have not studied Tamil medium or have not studied Tamil as a subject in their qualification, they can write TNPSC in English. TNPSC will offer job opportunities to candidates with at least 10th to UG, PG and other qualifications. Candidates who are final-year graduates can also apply for TNPSC Recruitment.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam 2024- Detailed Eligibility:

Education Qualification:

VAO (Village Administrative Officer):

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz. Must have passed the S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of Studies.

Junior Assistant(Non–Security & Security), Bill Collector Grade-I, Bill Collector:

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C. Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.

Typist: 

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:-
  i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
  ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or)
  iii) by Higher / Senior English and Lower/ Junior Tamil grades.
• A pass in Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Technical Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu

Steno-Typist(Grade-III):

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies.
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in
  Shorthand:-
  i) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
  ii) by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/Junior Grade in English (or)
  iii) by Higher / Senior English and Lower/ Junior Tamil grades.
• Note: Candidates with an Intermediate Grade will be considered to possess a Junior Grade, as the Intermediate Grade is not equivalent to a Senior Grade.

Note: The applicants who have not passed the SSLC Examination or its equivalent are not eligible for TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2024, even if they possess a higher qualification.

Steno-Typist/Personal Clerk /Personal Assistant:

• A degree from a recognized University or Institution
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in Shorthand;

• by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/Junior Grade in English (or)

Private Secretary Grade-III:

• A degree from a recognized University or Institution
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting Higher / Senior grade in English and Lower / Junior Grade in Tamil
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand Higher / Senior grade in English and Lower / Junior Grade in Tamil.
• Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Technical Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Junior Executive:

• A degree from a recognized University or Institution
• Must have passed in Co-operative Training.
• Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Technical Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu

Receptionist cum Telephone Operator:

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification
• Certificate Course in Telephone Operation from a recognized institution
• Must have passed the Computer on Office Automation Certificate Course conducted by the Technical Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Milk Recorder, Grade III:

• A degree from a recognized University or Institution
• Must have passed in Co-operative Training.

Laboratory Assistant: Must have passed the higher secondary courses with physics, chemistry, biology/botany, and zoology as subjects.

Senior Factory Assistant:  Must have passed a Higher Secondary Course or Must have passed Secondary School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent, with ITI in any trade

Forest Watcher: 

• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification
• Other things being equal, preference shall be given to persons discharged from the Army Service (Land Force).

Forest Guard with Driving Licence:

• A pass in Higher Secondary Course with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, or Botany as one of the subjects.
• Must possess a valid driving licence issued by the competent Transport Authority.
• Must possess a certificate from a reputed firm or company to the effect that the candidate possesses experience in driving Light Motor Vehicles / Heavy Motor Vehicles for a period of not less than three years after getting the driving licence.
• Must possess basic knowledge about the general mechanism of automobiles.
• Must possess first aid certificate issued by a recognized organization in Tamil Nadu
• Other things being equal, preference shall be given to persons who have been discharged from the Army Service (Land Force)

Junior Inspector of Cooperative Societies:

For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs category

• Must Possess Minimum General Educational Qualification or
• The certificate of eligibility for College course of studies in the Madras, Madurai, and Annamalai Universities issued by the Board of Secondary Education or by any other competent authority.

For Categories other than SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs:

• A pass in the Intermediate Examination or a pass in the Pre-University Examination of any University or Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission for its financial grant.
• If other things being equal, preference shall be given to the candidates possessing such qualifications and in such order as specified below;
• A degree in Commerce; or
• Higher Diploma in Co-operative Management awarded by the Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management, Chennai, or Institute of Co-operative Management, Madurai.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam – Selection process:

• The selection process is based on the written test.
• The question paper contains 200 questions for 300 marks for 3 Hours.
• The questions on General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil, and the questions
  on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages.
