Detailed Eligibility of TN Police SBCID Recruitment 2024:
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should pass 12th with Tamil as one of the Subjects.
- Must have passed Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand by Higher Grade/ Senior Grade (120 w.p.m).
- Must have passed Government Technical Examination in English Typewriting by Higher Grade / Senior Grade (45 w.p.m).
- Working knowledge in Tamil Shorthand is required.
- Candidates should acquire the certificate course in Computer on Office Automation Course within their probation period.

Selection Process of TN Police SBCID Recruitment:
- Selection will be based on the skill test (Shorthand dictation) and Interview
- Final selection will be made based on total marks obtained in both the skill test and the interview
Scheme of Skill & Oral Test:
- Written Examination consists of two parts, viz. Part-โAโ and Part-โBโ which will be held for 2 hours 20 min duration
- Part -A will be held for 60 min duration, and Part โ B will be held for 80 min duration
- The questions in Part โA will be in Tamil Language.
- Tamil language examination will be conducted only as a qualifying
examination for 50 marks in objective type as Part-โAโ. This score will not be considered for ranking. - Part-โBโ skill test will be evaluated only if the candidate secures a minimum qualifying mark of 40% (i.e.,20 Marks) in Part-โA / failing, which will reject his candidature.
- The candidates who qualified in the Skill Test alone will be called for
Interview. - The final selection will be based on the combined marks secured by the candidates in the skill Test and the Interview and per the communal roster.

Method of evaluation:
a)Deduction of 1 mark each for the following:- (for both Tamil & English passages)
- Every omission of a word.
- A wrong word for a right word.
- Past tense for present, singular for plural and vice versa
b) Deduction of 1/2 mark each for the following (for both Tamil 8 English passages)
- For spelling mistakes.
Test Centre: The skill and oral tests will be held only in Chennai.
