The age limit of the candidates should be 37 – 59 years. The selected candidates will be paid Rs. 56100-177500/-. The selection process for TN MRB Careers is based on Computer Based Examination. TN Medical Recruitment Board – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Assistant Surgeon (General):
- Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification awarded by a University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for its grants. The Medical must have approved the courses Council of India.
- The candidates should possess an MBBS Degree.
- In addition to the above, the candidates
- Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914.
- Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for not less than twelve months.
- Candidates should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on or before the last date of this Notification. (Last date for submission of application i.e 15.05.2024)
- If a candidate claims that the educational qualification possessed by him/her is equivalent though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, the onus of proof rests with the candidate.
Age Limit ( As on 1 July 2024) :
- SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DNCs, BCs, BCMs (including Ex-Servicemen belonging to these communities): 59 Years
- Others: 37 Years
- Differently Abled Candidate to “Others”: 47 Years
- Ex-Servicemen Belonging to “Others”: 50 Years

Selection Process of TN MRB Recruitment 2024:
- Selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test
- Short-listed candidates will be called to verify the original certificates as claimed in their online application form.
- There will be No Oral Test for the post.

- The duration for the Tamil Language Eligibility Test is 1 hour
- The duration for the Computer Based Test is 2 hours
- The subject “Medical Sciences” question paper will only be set in English and contain 100 objective-type questions.
- There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer and no oral Test (Interview) for the post.
Note:
- The candidates who have applied under the PWBD (Persons With Benchmark Disability) category for the post of Assistant Surgeon (General) are eligible for compensatory time of 20 Minutes to write the Computer Test based on the provisions laid down in the G.O. (Ms). No.8, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP-3.2) Department, Dated: 21.09.2021.
