TN Fisheries Department Recruitment 2022 – The Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department has announced the employment vacancies for the post of Sagar Mitras. The educational qualification should be Bachelor’s Degree. There are a total of 600 posts for the Sagar Mitras Position. The details of Vacancy and Eligibility is given below.
About TN Fisheries Department: The maritime state of Tamil Nadu is blessed with 1,076 km long coast line and 41,412 km2 continental shelf area with an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of 1.9 lakh sq. km, contributing 5.209 lakh tons of marine fish production. This supports the livelihood of 10.48 lakh marine fishers through 5,803 mechanised and 41,337 traditional fishing crafts which are actively engaged in fishing. Tamil Nadu possess 3.83 lakh ha. of effective inland water resources comprising reservoirs, major irrigation tanks, minor irrigation tanks, short seasonal tanks, ponds, rivers, backwaters and derelict water bodies.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational qualification :
- The candidates must have Minimum Bachelor degree in Fisheries Science/Marine Biology/Zoology.
- Preference will be given for Fisheries graduates.
- In addition, knowledge in Information Technology (IT) shall be given preference.
- The candidates who have effective communication skills in Tamil will be considered.
Age Limit (as on 01/07/2021) :
- The age limit for the candidates applying for the post of Sagar Mitras is 35 years.

Salary :
- The salary for the post of Sagar Mitra is Rs.10,000/month which is the performance incentive against a set of predetermined tasks.
- Additional performance incentives up to Rs.5,000/- in a month will be given to Sagar Mitra against additional tasks if entrusted from time-to-time.

The selection process for the post of Sagar Mitra will be based on Written Test/ Interview.
