Educational Qualification:

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT):

A candidate must have a Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University or an integrated Post Graduate Master’s course from a Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT with at least 50% marks in ag$egate or its equivalent grade.
A candidate must have acquired a B.Ed. or equivalent Degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, equivalent to a B. Ed. from a recognized University /Institution.
B. Ed. qualification is not the mandatory eligibility criterion for the post of PGT in Commerce, Education, Geology, Home Science, Logic & Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, IRPM, Telugu & Urdu subjects.
B.Ed. Qualification is the mandatory criterion for the post of PGT in Botany, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology subjects.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2024): 21 to 38 years (he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1986 and not later than 1st January 2003)

Selection Process for SSB Odisha Careers:

The selection will be based on a written test and a career assessment.
The written Test will be worth 150 Marks (Multiple Choice Question Type), and the Career Assessment will be worth 50 marks, a total of 200 marks.
There shall be a written test of 150 marks for the subject concerned as per the syllabus given on the SSB website.
There will be 100 questions of multiple choice type, each carrying 1.5 marks, with a negative mark of 0.5 for each wrong answer.
The questions are to be answered in carbonless OMR Answer sheets
The examination will be two hours long.
Qualifying marks in the written examination for candidates under the Unreserved category shall be 40o/o, and for candidates under SC/ST/SEBC & PwD categories, it shall be 30%.

The career assessment will be 50 marks, calculated per the following weightage.

Post Graduation	15	This will be calculated based on the aggregate of marks secured in the postgraduate examination.
B. Ed.	15	This will be calculated based on the aggregate of marks secured in the B.Ed. or equivalent examination.

In the case of posts of PGT in a subject where B. Ed. Qualification is not mandatory; career assessment concerning post-graduation shall be done out of 30 marks.
The date of conduct of the written examination will be notified later on the Website.
The eligible candidates must download their Admit Cards from the SSB website for the written test.
Successful candidates will be asked to submit the Printout / Hard Copy of the Online Application Forms, self-affected photocopies of academic qualifications and other mentioned documents.
They must produce the original certificates before the verifying officer as and when intimated to them.

Documents Required for Verification:

Hard copy of the online application.
U.S.C. or equivalent certificate and mark sheet supporting date of birth and percentage of marks issued by the concerned Board / Council.
Higher Secondary (+2) and Graduation (+3) certificate and mark sheet in support of percentage of marks/division/class.
Master’s Degree certificate and mark sheet issued by any recognized University/Institution.
B.Ed. Certificate and mark sheet issued by any N.C.T.E-recognized university/Institution.
Two recent passport-size photographs similar to the one uploaded to the online application form mention his / her name and roll number at the back.
Conduct Certificate issued by the College / University / Institution last attended.
Caste Certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
The required Odia pass certificate is issued by the Principal / Headmaster of the School, indicating that the candidate has passed Odia in M.E. Standard.
Discharge Certificate issued by the Unit’s Commanding Officer last served wherever applicable.
Disability Certificate (indicating percentage of disability) of PwD candidates.
An identity card for sports persons is issued by the Secretary or Director of Sports, Odisha, wherever applicable.
No Objection Certificate issued by the competent authority, wherever applicable.

Examination Centre:

The written examination shall be held at Balasore, Berhampur, Bhawanipatna, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jeypore, Keonjhar, Rourkela and Sambalpur depending upon the number of candidates from the respective zone. If sufficient candidates are unavailable for any zone(s), excluding Bhubaneswar, the candidates opting for those zones will be accommodated at their nearest zone.
