Educational Qualification:
For GP 1800 (Level 1) Posts: Matriculation (10th pass) or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
For GP 1900/2000 (Level 3/2) Posts: 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination.
Minimum Sports Norms:
For Group โCโ (Level 3/2) Posts:
- Represented the country in Category-B Championships (like World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games). OR
- At least 3rd position in Category-C Championships (like Commonwealth/Asian Championships).ย OR
- At least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships.ย OR
- At least 3rd position in the National Games.ย OR
- At least 3rd position in the All India Inter-University Championship.ย OR
- 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior).

Selection Process for South Central Railway Careers:
- Selection will be based upon Document Verification, performance in Sports Trials and assessment of sports achievement & educational qualification, etc.
- After scrutiny of applications by the Scrutiny Committee, short-listed eligible candidates will be called for Document Verification & Trial of sports performance.
- Candidates who will be found suitable in Document Verification by the Document Verification Committee, Trials of those candidates will be conducted by the Trial Committee.
- Trial Committee conducts trials to assess their sports performance and suitability for the Railway/Unit team as well as the Indian Railways team.
- Trial Committee shall give its recommendation in terms of either FIT or NOT FIT, for consideration for the next stage, by giving marks as per the criteria given below
- For Game skill, physical fitness & coachโs observations during trials โย 40 Marks
- FIT Candidate โย Candidate securing 25 marks or more
- NOT FIT Candidate โย Candidate securing marks below 25
- After the Trial, only the FIT Candidates in trial shall be considered for the next stage i.e. assessment of sports achievement & educational qualification by the Recruitment Committee.
- Recruitment Committee shall award the marks (out of 60 marks) only to the FIT candidates for their sports achievements, educational qualifications etc.
Distribution of Marks:
- For game skill, physical fitness & Coachโs observations during Trials โย 40 Marks
- For assessment of recognised Sports Achievements as per norms โ 50 Marks
- Educational Qualification โย 10 Marks
- Total Marks โย 100 Marks
Minimum qualifying marks for recruitment through Open Advertisement in different Pay Level/Grade Pay, shall be as follows:
- Pay Level 3 (Grade Pay 2000): 65 Marks
- Pay Level 2 (Grade Pay 1900): 65 Marks

- Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate for NTPC categories. 50% marks are not required for SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates and candidates who possess higher qualifications like Graduation/Post-Graduation.ย OR
- Passed Matriculation Plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship/ ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT from recognized institutions for the posts in Technical Categories.
Cultural Qualifications:

Note: Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-Cum-Typist should acquire typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi within a period of two years from the date of appointment and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional.

Age Relaxation:ย
- Upto a maximum of 05 years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe(ST).
- Upto a maximum of 03 years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Class (OBC) who are eligible to avail reservation applicable as per extant rules.
- The Serving Railway employee who has put in 03 years of continuous service in railways will be eligible for age relaxation up to the upper age limit of 40 years in the case of General Category Candidates, 45 years in the case of SC/ST category candidates and 43 years in the case of OBC category candidates.
- The Staff Quasi-Administrative Officers or organizations such as Railway Consumer Co-Operative Socictics, Canteens and Institutes etc. will be given relaxation in age limit to the extent of 05 years or up to the length of service rendered in such organization, whichever is lower.
- By 10 years for UR persons with disabilities (PWD), 13 years for OBC Persons with Disabilities and 15 years for SC/ST Persons with Disabilities(PWD).

Selection Process for South Central Railway Careers:
- The recruitment will be based on the written test followed by a Practical Demonstration.
- The eligible candidates will be called for a Written Test and those who qualify for the Written Test will be called for a Practical Demonstration.
- The candidates who are found eligible in all respects will be considered on the following basis:
- Written Test consisting of Objective Type Questions (Minimum 40% marks are required for qualifying for Practical Demonstration).
- Questions will be objective multiple choice types, based on General Awareness, Mathematics, Mental Ability & Music related subjects. There will be negative markings in the written test and 1/3rd of the marks allotted for the objective type question will be deducted for every wrong: 50 Marks
- Talent Test in the relevant field with Practical Demonstration: 35 Marks
- Confirmation of Talent by Testimonials/Certificates/ Awards: 15 Marks
- The candidates appearing for Written Test should be in readiness to appear for Practical Demonstration.
- The written examination/CBT will be of objective type.
- Question paper will be in English and Hindi.
- All the candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks of 40% will be called to give practical demonstration test.
- The final empanelment to the tune of the notified vacancies will be based on the Final Merit order prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in written exam, Practical test and the marks assigned to the testimonials/prizes.etc.
- The date, time and venue of the Written Test, Practical Demonstration/ Document Verification will be fixed by the RRC and will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
- The written test shall be 60 minutes in duration.
