SBI Clerk Syllabus 2020 โ€“ The aspirants of SBI who are submitting their application form from 03 to 26 January 2020 for the post of SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) can start their preparation for the examination with the help of SBI Clerk Syllabus. In this article, candidates can get the exam pattern and syllabus for both prelims and mains examination for the post of SBI Clerk. Candidates have to download the admit card before appearing for the examination of SBI Clerk in the official website of SBI. Candidates those who are not yet applied for the SBI Clerk post can apply through this SBI Clerk 2020 Freshersvoice page before 26 January 2020.

SBI Clerk Syllabus 2019SBI Clerk Syllabus 2020 & Exam pattern:

ย  ย  ย The SBI Clerk exam pattern will remain the same for this year also because still no official notification is released from the SBI. SBI clerk selection will be made in two stages namely:-



Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
Stage 2: Mains Examination



ย  ย  ย The preliminary exam will be conducted on February/March 2020 (Tentatively) and the main exam will be conducted on 19.04.2020 (Tentatively). Both exams are the computer-based test but it will be conducted in offline.

SBI Clerk Syllabus 2020 โ€“ Preliminary Exam Pattern :

ย  ย  ย SBI Clerk prelims examination will be conducted in the month of February/March 2020 (Tentatively). Prelims exam will contain 100 multiple choice question with the time duration of 1 hour. The medium for conducting the prelims examination will be English and Hindi. Prelims exam pattern is given below:-

SBI Clerk Syllabus for Prelims:

ย  ย  ย  ย SBI prelims will have three sections of multiple choice questions and each correct answer will have 1 mark while each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks. Sections included in prelims:-

  • Reasoning Ability
  • English Language
  • Numeric Ability
For reasoning ability:

ย  ย  ย  Reasoning ability will have 35 marks in the prelims total mark with the time duration of 20 minutes. All are multiple choice questions in the following topics:-

  • Analogy &ย Blood relations
  • Coding and Decoding
  • Seating arrangements
  • Series completion
  • Syllogism & Decision making
  • Statement reasoning
  • AnalogySeries Completion
  • Classification
For the English language:

ย  ย  ย The English language will have 30 marks with the time period of 20 minutes in the prelims examination. All are MCQ to test the verbal ability of the candidates and such topics will be included:-

  • Vocabulary
  • Synonyms & Antonyms
  • Word formation
  • Sentence Completion
  • Comprehension & Theme detection
  • Deriving Conclusions
  • Passage Completion
  • Error detection & Passage correction
For Numeric ability:

ย  ย  ย Numeric ability is the section will have 35 marks in the prelims examination. These multiple choice questions will be solved in 20 minutes. Such topics will cover:-

  • Number System
  • Simplification and partnership
  • Ratio & proportion
  • Time and work
  • Time and distance
  • Volume and Surface area
  • Clocks and algorithm
  • Permutation and Combination
  • Allegation and mixtures

SBI Clerk Syllabus 2020 โ€“ Mains Exam Pattern:

ย  ย  ย Candidates who are shortlisted from the prelims examination will be eligible to appear for the mains exam. The main exam will remain the same pattern as the prelims exam only but some change in the additional topic Financial awareness and difficulty level of questions. Main exam pattern is given below:-

SBI Clerk Syllabus โ€“ Main Examination :

ย  ย  ย  ย In the main examination syllabus, there will be the four section of 190 multiple choice questions with a total of 200 marks. For each correct answer will award 1 mark while each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks in the total. Such topics included are:-

  • Reasoning ability & computer aptitude
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General English
  • General & Financial awareness
For the English language :

ย  ย  ย  ย  The English language will have 40 multiple choice questions with the time duration of 35 minutes. Such topics will be included is listed below:-

  • Comprehension
  • Cloze test
  • Sentence improvement
  • Spotting error
  • Sentence re-arrangement
For Quantitative aptitude/ numeric ability:

ย  ย  ย Quantitative aptitude /Numeric aptitude will have 50 questions in the main examination. These multiple-choice questions will be solved within 45 minutes with a high level of difficulty. Such topics to be covered:-

  • Number series
  • Date Interpretation (Tabular, Bie chart, Bar graph)
  • Simplification
  • data sufficiency
  • Miscellaneous Questions
  • Quadratic equation
  • Ratio and proportion
  • Permutation and combination
For Reasoning ability & computer aptitude:

ย  ย  ย This section will have 50 multiple choice questions with the total marks of 60. There are no input and output questions in computer aptitude. Such topics to be included:-

  • Syllogism and Analogy
  • Inequality
  • Seating arrangement
  • Linear arrangement
  • Coding and decoding
  • Data sufficiency
  • Blood relation
For General and Financial awareness:

ย  ย  ย  Financial awareness section will have 50 questions for 50 marks with the time duration of 35 minutes. Such topics to be covered in this section are:

  • Banking /Financial terms
  • Current affairs of Bank industry.
  • General Knowledge
  • Static Awareness
Aspects of SBI Clerk Syllabus :
  • Prelims and Mains examination will have multiple choice questions.
  • Syllabus for both sections are the same only change is that the main exam will have one more topic called financial awareness.
  • The language test will be conducted to test the local language proficiency.
  • SBI prelims and mains exam will be the computer-based exam in offline.
  • Each correct answer will award 1 mark and for each wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks.
  • There are no marks reduced for the questions left unanswered.
