Detailed Eligibility – Job Vacancies Northern Rail:
Educational Qualification:
Gropu-D Posts (Sports Quota): Passed 10th or its equivalent examination
Note: Candidate possessing higher education qualifications should also upload their 12th pass graduation/post-graduation certificate.
Sports Qualification (Achievements):
- Only those sportspersons who have acquired the following sports achievement eligibility norms in the championship from 01/04/2021 to (date of notification) and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment against the posts under Sports Quota.
- For the validity of sports achievement, the concluding day of the championship event shall be considered.
- The specific position played in the particular discipline, if applicable, should be mentioned in the ONLINE Application without fail.
- All the championships mentioned above should have been conducted under the aegis of the recognized International/National/State Sports Federation and also recognized by the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB).
- Sports persons having sports norms for higher level and who have applied against the vacancies for the lower level can be considered for recruitment against the level applied for only.
- In such cases, the sportsperson has to give an undertaking that he/she will not claim for a higher level after joining Railways.
Minimum Sports Norms for Recruitment:
- Level-1: Represented the Country in any of the Category C Championships/ events [or]
- At least 3rd Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category) [or]
- Represented a State of equivalent Unit, except in Marathon and Cross Country, with at least 8th position in senior national championship only.
Additional acceptable sports achievement eligibility norms for certain disciplines:
- Badminton & Table Tennis: Up to 30th position
- Chess: 2300 or more FIDE Rating
- Hockey (Women): Participation in these tournaments may be considered for recruitment against the posts having Grade Pay (1,800 in Pay Band 5,200-20,200).
Period of Probation: All the candidates getting an appointment will undergo a probation period of Two years (02 years)

Selection Process of Northern Railway Jobs:
- The selection process will be based on Screening & Scrutiny of applications, document verification, trials & assessment of sports achievements, and Educational Qualification.
Document Verification:
- Eligible candidates will be called for Document Verification before Trial.
- Candidates should produce the following documents on the day of Document Verification.

- All Educational Qualification
- Sports achievements
- Caste Certificate
- Relevant certificate for exemption in fees, if applicable
- One set of self-attested photocopies of all certificate

Trials & Assessment:
- Only the candidates found FIT in trials will be considered for the next stage.
- The Trial Committee shall conduct trials of the candidates to assess their sports performance and suitability for the Railway/Unit Team and the Indian Railways Team.
- The trials committee shall give their commendations regarding FIT or NOT FIT for consideration for the next stage as per the criteria below.

Sports Quota:
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University. OR
- I passed the 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination.
- Education Qualification must be from a recognized Institution.
