Educational Qualification for Sports Quota Posts:

Level-1 (GP-1800/- as per 6th CPC) :

• Minimum Prescribed Educational Qualification: Passed 10th or its equivalent examination.
• Games:

Note: Candidate possessing higher education qualifications should also upload their 12th Pass/ Graduation certificate/Post Graduation Certificate.

Minimum Sports Norms for Recruitment: 

• Represented the country in any of the category C Championships/events  OR
• At least 3rd position in Federation cup Championships ( Senior Category)  OR
• Represented a state of equivalent Unit, except in Marathon and cross Country, with at least 8th position in senior national championship only.

Period of Probation: All the candidates getting an appointment will undergo probation period of Two years (02 years).

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2026): 18 – 25 years

Pay Level: Rs. 18,000/- to 56,900/- (Level 01)

Selection Process of Northern Railway Jobs:

• The recruitment will be based on trials & assessment of sports achievements, and Educational qualifications.
• Documents Verification: The eligible candidates will be called for Document Verification before Trial.
• The Candidates who are found FIT in trials, only will be considered for next stage.
• Trials committee shall give the recommendations in terms of FIT or NOT FIT for consideration for next stage as per criteria given below.
  • For Game Skill, Physical Fitness & Coach’s Observations
    during Trials: 40 Marks
  • FIT candidate: 25 Marks or More 
  • Not FIT candidate: Below 25 Marks 
• After the trial, only Fit Candidates shall be considered for the next stage by recruitment Committee .
• Assessment of the candidates will be held on the same day, just after trials or at the most next day of trials.
• Recruitment Committee shall award 60 marks for sports achievements and Education Qualification as per following criteria
  • For assessment of recognized Sports Achievements as per norms: 50 Marks
  • Educational Qualification and General intelligence/Personality: 10 Marks

Application Fee:

• For SC/ST, women, Minorities & Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/-
• For others: Rs. 500/-
