Detailed Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
Biotechnologist:
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology and 3 years of work experience in TB Bacteriology/ Biotechnology/Molecular Biology Or
- M.Sc. Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology and 5 years of work experience in TB Bacteriology / Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology
Consultant Microbiologist:
- M.D. Microbiology and Three years of work experience in Bacteriology or Ph.D. Medical Microbiology /Applied Microbiology / General Microbiology or related field and Three years of work experience in Bacteriology or
- M.Sc. Medical Microbiology /Applied Microbiology / General Microbiology and Five years of work experience in Bacteriology.
Biomedical Engineer:
- B.E/ B. Tech in Biomedical Engineering and three years of work experience in related fields.
Senior Laboratory Technician:
- M.Sc. Medical Microbiology/ Applied Microbiology/ General Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with or without DMLT and three years of work experience in TB Bacteriology.
Age Limit: Maximum 65 years
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be as per the guidelines of the ICMR.
Salary :
- Biotechnologist – Rs.65,000/month
- Consultant Microbiologist – Rs.65,000/month
- Biomedical Engineer – Rs.65,000/month
- Senior Laboratory Technician – Rs.25,000/month

Selection Process for NJIL & OMD Recruitment 2023:
Selection process includes written test/interview. Syllabus for written Test / Interview are as follows
Biotechnologist and Consultant Microbiologist – Questions will be based on
- General Knowledge – Current affairs of India and the Globe.
- National TB Elimination Programme
- Post-Graduate degree level of subjects desired in essential qualification
- Laboratory Science pertaining to Tuberculosis Diagnosis, DNA Sequencing and Analysis
- Marks would also be given for project grants received, publications, awards, any work of public health importance.
Biomedical Engineer and Senior Laboratory Technician – Questions will be based on
- General Knowledge – Current affairs of India and the Globe.
- Principles of National TB Elimination Programme
- Data Analysis and Statistical packages
- Graduate degree level of Computer application
Note: Tenure of the initial contract will be for a period of one year from the date of appointment and may be extended for another year based on performance evaluation report and need of the project.
