NHPC Apprenticeship – Educational Qualification:
Graduate Apprentices:
- Graduate: B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) in relevant disciplines like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication & Computer Science Engg./Information Technology
- HR Executive – MBA
- Finance Executive – B.Com
- CSR Executive – Bachelor’s Degree with Social Work or Rural Development or CSR or equivalent
- Law Executive – Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) (min. 03 years professional course) OR 05 years Integrated LLB Degree (Professional)
- PR Executive – Bachelor’s Degree with Mass Communication / Journalism and Mass Communication / Journalism & Mass Comm. or equivalent
- Rajbhasha Assistant – M.A. (Hindi) with proficient knowledge of English or M.A. (English) with proficient knowledge of Hindi.
- Nursing Assistant – B.Sc. Nursing.

Duration of Training: The duration of training will be 01 year but may be extended up to 02 years as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961 and Rules made thereunder.
Age Limit: The apprentice should not be less than 18 years of age and the maximum age shall not be more than 30 years.
Age Relaxation: Relaxations to the reserved category shall be given as per the Govt. guidelines.
Stipend Details:
- Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 15,000/-
- Diploma Apprentices: Rs. 13,500/-
- ITI Apprentices: Rs. 12,000/-

Selection Process for NHPC Apprentice Careers:
- The eligible candidates will be selected as per merit drawn based on the following criteria. There will be no interview.
- For Graduate Apprentices: 20% weightage to 10th marks, 20% to 12th/Diploma marks, and 60% to the aggregate marks in your Engineering/Graduation/PG (whichever is applicable) in the relevant subject.
- For Diploma Apprentices: 30% weightage to 10th marks and 70% to Diploma in Engineering.
- For ITI Apprentices: 30% weightage to 10th marks and 70% to ITI in the concerned Trade.
Preference in Selection:
- First preference will be given to candidates belonging to the Project Affected Families of the respective Project/Power Station/Unit.
- If sufficient or no candidates from Project Affected Families are available, then preference will be extended to candidates belonging to the concerned district(s) of the State(s)/UTs where the Project/Power Station/Unit is located.
- Should the vacancies persist, then preference will be given to candidates belonging to the State(s)/UTs where the Project/Power Station/Unit is located.
- Should the vacancies still persist, then selection for the remaining positions will be based on merit criteria specified in the advertisement for candidates belonging to other States (s)/UTs.
