NBAIR Recruitment 2024 – The National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources has announced the notification of JRF/Young Professional – I post on a contract basis. There are two NBAIR Vacancy for these posts. Candidates with the qualification of M.Sc/B.Sc are eligible to apply for these positions. About NBAIR: National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (NBAIR), formerly National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Insects (NBAII) is located in Bangalore, Hebbal in the same premises at which The Commonwealth Institute of Biological Control (CIBC), Indian Station was established in 1957. The advent of CIBC marked the beginning of organized and systematic biological control research in India. During this period, our knowledge of natural enemies of crop pests and weeds increased manifold. CIBC Indian station was closed during 1987 and All India Coordinated Research Project on Biological Control of Crop Pests and Weeds (AICRP-BC&W), which was launched in 1977 under the aegis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research was shifted to the same campus in 1988.

Detailed Eligibility- NBAIR Vacancy:
Educational Qualification:
Project Title: “Faunistic studies on bamboo-shoot fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) of Western Ghats and Northeast India”
Junior Research Fellow:
- M.Sc. in Agril. Entomology/ Zoology/Any other relevant subjects under life sciences
- Those with 3 years Bachelor’s degree must have NET/GATE qualification or equivalent
- Desirable: Knowledge of insect collection, processing and rearing, basics of insect morphology and molecular characterization.
Duration: The initial appointment is till closure of the project whichever is earlier and the continuation of the appointment will depend up on the progress reviewed every six months by the Principal Investigator.
Upper Age Limit: The age should be maximum 35 years for male and 40 years for female and
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC is applicable as per the Govt. of India/ICAR Rules.
