NBA Recruitment 2023 – National Bio-Diversity Authority has announced an online notification for recruitment to the post of Technical Officer(Intellectual Property Rights). There are 01 vacancies to be filled for this post. The candidates with LLB/LLM/M.Sc/PhD qualification can apply. About NBA: The National Biodiversity Authority is a statutory autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests and climate change, Government of India established in 2003 to implement the provisions under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002, after India signed Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992. The NBA with its headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India delivers its mandate through a structure that comprises of the Authority, Secretariat, SBBs, BMCs and Expert Committees.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Technical Officer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in law from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent; and working Knowledge in Computer. (or)
- Master’s degree in Biological / Life Sciences from a Recognized University or Institution or equivalent and a pass in Patent Attorney Examination conducted by the “Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Government of India with working knowledge of computers.
- Two-year experience as an Advocate or Legal Consultant dealing with matters relating to Consumer/Patent Rights/Intellectual Property Rights.
- Desirable:
- Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent. (or)
- A doctorate in Biological / Life Sciences.
- Two-year experience as a Legal Consultant in Handling matters related to Consumer / Patent Rights / Intellectual Property Rights.
Age Limit(As on 25 September): 30 Years
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable for serving Government servants for up to 40 years (with not less than three years of continuous service)
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years for PwBD applicants
Salary: Rs.47,600- Rs.1,51,100/-

Selection Process:
- Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for and no correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in this regard.
- Method of Recruitment:
- Online Written Test: Written test will be conducted for eligible candidates comprising a combination of multiple choice questions and a short essay.
- Short-listing of candidates: The candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks secured in in the written test.
- Interview: The shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview, which will be conducted by the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA).
- This may also be conducted virtually, if required.
- Selection: The selection will be made based on the following criteria:
- 75% weightage for marks secured in the written test
- 25% weightage for the interview
