Selection Process for KVS NVS Careers:

  • For the following posts, there will be a two-tier examination followed by an Interview. The merit list will be prepared with 85% weightage to marks obtained in Tier-2 and 15% for the Interview. The interview is for 100 marks.

  • For these posts, there will be no Interview or Skill Test. Merit list is prepared solely from marks in Tier-2.

Examination Structure

Tier-1 (Preliminary Qualifying Exam):

  • Conducted in OMR Objective mode, duration 2 hours (no time limit on each part).
  • For all posts except Multi-Tasking Staff, components include:

Tier-2 (Main Exam – Subject Knowledge):

  • Separate Tier-2 for each post, bilingual Hindi & English (except for some language posts where test is in concerned language).
  • Combination of pen-paper and OMR, duration 2.5 hours.
  • Components: 60 objective questions (60 marks) and descriptive questions (40 marks), total 100 marks.
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • No re-evaluation allowed.

Interview and Skill Test

  • Candidates shortlisted from Tier-2 to Interview in ratio 1:3 (including ties).
  • Skill Test (where applicable) shortlisting from Tier-2 in ratio 1:5 (including ties).

Skill Test Details:

  • Junior Secretariat Assistant: Typing test (35 w.p.m. English or 30 w.p.m. Hindi), Computer Proficiency Test (English/Hindi MS Office and Internet), minimum 40 marks in CPT to qualify.
  • Stenographer Grade-I/II: Shorthand test (dictation at 80 w.p.m.), transcription (50 min English, 65 min Hindi), typing test (40 w.p.m. English or 35 w.p.m. Hindi), and computer proficiency test (described above).
