Detailed Eligibility:
Specialist Intern:
- Currently pursuing a degree or certification in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems commonly used in facilities, such as HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for mechanical equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina to handle mechanical tasks involving lifting, bending, or working in confined spaces.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in the facility management industry.
Responsibilities:
Assist in mechanical system maintenance and repairs:
- Support the facility management team in conducting routine maintenance on mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and perform necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal operations.
Conduct preventive maintenance:
- Assist in implementing and following preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and mechanical equipment and components adjustments according to maintenance plans and industry standards.
Assist in equipment calibration and optimization:
- Participate in equipment calibration procedures to ensure accurate operation of mechanical systems, such as HVAC controls and environmental monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to optimize mechanical system settings for energy efficiency and adherence to industry regulations.
Support mechanical projects and installations:
- Assist the facility management team in planning and executing mechanical system projects, such as equipment upgrades or installations.
- Assist in project coordination, including researching and sourcing materials, assisting with procurement processes, and collaborating with contractors or vendors.
Ensure compliance and safety:
- To promote a safe working environment, adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while working on mechanical systems.
- Stay updated with mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to maintaining lab standards.
