IOCL Apprentice 2026: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has announced the notification for Technician Apprentice, Trade Apprentice, Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts at its locations in the Pipelines Division. There are 394 Openings for these posts. Candidates with Any Degree/B.Com/Diploma/12th qualifications are eligible to apply for Indian Oil Recruitment. Detailed Eligibility – IOCL Career:

Educational Qualification:

Technician Apprentice (Mechanical):

  • Three years (or lateral entry after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course) full-time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering
    • Automobile Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering

Technician Apprentice (Electrical):

  • Three years (or lateral entry after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course) full time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation):

  • Three years (or lateral entry after Class-XII (Sc)/ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course) full time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering from a Govt. recognized Institute:
    • Electronics & Communication Engineering
    • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
    • Electronics & Radio Communication Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Control Engineering
    • Instrumentation & Process Control Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering

Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource):

  • Full Time Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) from a Govt. recognized Institute/ University.

Trade Apprentice (Accountant):

  • Full Time Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in Commerce from a Govt. recognized Institute/University.

Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices):

  • Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate)

Domestic Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders)



  • Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate).
  • Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’ for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognised by the Central Govt.

Period of Apprenticeship Training: 12 months from the date of engagement

Notes:

  • The prescribed qualification for Graduate/Diploma holders shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the posts reserved for them) in aggregate.
  • Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech., MBA, CA, LLB, MCA, or any such equivalent qualification or pursuing higher qualification and having completed the same on or before joining apprenticeship training, shall not be eligible.
  • Candidates who have completed five years after acquiring the prescribed qualification as on date of reckoning eligibility criteria shall also not be eligible for engagement as Apprentices.

Age Limit (As on 31 January 2026):  Minimum 18 years and maximum age shall be 24 years

Age Relaxation: 

  • Relaxation in upper age up to 5 years to SC/ST candidates and 3 years to OBC (NCL) candidates considered against reserved positions will be allowed.
  • Relaxation in upper age up to 10 years for PwBD candidates will be allowed irrespective of reservation of posts to them.
  • Further, upper age relaxation of 5 years to PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 3 years to PwBD-OBC(NCL) candidates will be allowed.

Stipend Details: Rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, The Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 read with The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2019 & 2025 as amended from time to time and Corporation’s guidelines.

Selection Process of IOCL Apprentice Careers:

  • Candidates registered on NAPS/NATS portal, and applying against the notification shall be considered for selection.
  • There shall be No Written Test or Personal Interview
  • Candidates shall be shortlisted for the Panel cum Merit List purely based on the information furnished by them in online portal.
  • The candidate is required to produce all original certificates, testimonials, and mark sheets, along with one passport-size photograph and self-attested photocopies of the relevant certificates and mark sheets, for verification at the specified date, time, and venue
