Indian Museum Kolkata Careers – Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Hindi Translator:
- Essential:
- Graduate or equivalent degree from a recognised University in Hindi in addition to English.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Translation work in any big establishment
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of Bengali.
- Typing speed 30 words per minute in Hindi.
Assistant – Librarian:
- Essential:
- Master’s or equivalent Honours degree of a recognised University in Ancient Indian History and Culture or Anthropology or Archaeology or other allied subject related to Museum.
- Diploma in Library Science.
- One year’s experience in a Library of good standing.
Modeller:
- Essential:
- School Final or equivalent examination passed.
- Degree or Diploma of a recognised Art College or a comparable institution in Arts with a specialization in modelling.
- At least 3 years’ practical experience in modelling.
- Desirable: Knowledge or experience in Museum work.
Guide Lecturer:
- Essential:
- Master’s or equivalent Hons. Degree of a recognised University in Zoology.
- Ability to speak on Zoology in Hindi and English in addition to Bengali.
- Desirable:
- Diploma in Museology.
- Experience in Museum or Training in Museology.
- Published Research in Zoology.
Note: Qualifications are relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Age Limit (As on 14 October 2024): 28 years
Age Relaxation:
- For reserved categories, upper age limit is relaxable as per extant Government of India orders.
- Upper age limit is also relaxable by the Board on the recommendations of the Selection Committee if the candidates are found otherwise suitable.
