Mode of Selection for Income Tax Recruitment 2024:
Meritorious sportspersons will be selected as per the order of preference contained in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)
- First preference: to those candidates who have represented the country in International Competition with the clearance of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Second preference: to those, who have represented a State/Union Territory in the Senior or Junior Level National championships organized by the National Sports Federations recognized by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports or National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place. Between the candidates participating in Senior and Junior National Championships/games, the candidates having participated and won the medal in Senior National Championships shall be given preference.
- Third preference: to those, who have represented a University in an Inter-University competition conducted by the Association of Indian Universities / Inter-University Sports Board and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place in finals.
- Fourth preference: to those, who have represented the State Schools in the National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the All-lndia School Games Federation and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
- Fifth preference: to those, who have been awarded National Award in physical efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
- Sixth preference: to those who represented a State / Union Territory / University / State School Teams at the level mentioned in categories (B) to (D) but could not win a medal or position, in the same order of preference.

Inspector of Income Tax:
- Bachelor’s Degree of recognized University or equivalent examination passed from a recognized University.
Tax Assistant :

- Having a data entry speed of 8000 key depression per hour with following cut-off error percentage in data entry speed test:

Stenographer Grade-II:
- 12th standard or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or University.
- The candidates possess certificate of stenography from a recognized institution having speed of 50 words per minute (English) or 65 words per minute (Hindi).
- Dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi at the speed of 80 w.p.m.
- The matter will have to be transcribed on computer. The transcription time will be 65 (sixty-five) minutes for Hindi and 50 (fifty) minutes for English.
Multi-Tasking Staff :
- Matriculation or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board.
Sports Eligibility of Income Tax Department Recruitment:
Sports person having represented:
- A state or the country in a National or International Competition in any of the games/sports or
- The University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports board in any of the games/sports as mentioned or

Selection Process of Income Tax Vacancy:
- The selection process includes document verification, trials and skill / stenography test.
- The applications will be scrutinized and only suitable candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process.
- The dates for the same would be intimated to the candidates separately.
- Success in the above tests confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects for annointment to the post.
- Sports/Games wise merit lists shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates out of 100 marks.
- Candidates who fail to secure minimum of 40 marks in overall assessment out of 100 marks, shall not be considered eligible for inclusion in the merit list.
