IISER Bhopal Recruitment 2024: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal has announced notification for a Junior Research Fellow/Lab Assistant. There are three openings for these posts. Candidates with the qualification of B.Sc/M.Sc/M. Tech/BS-MS is eligible to apply for IISER Bhopal Jobs. IISER Bhopal Jobs:
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal invites applications from Indian Nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow for a multi-institute research project entitled “National Carbonaceous Aerosols Programme COALESCE: CarbOnaceous Aerosol Emissions, Source apportionment and ClimatE impacts” funded by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India and for the post of Lab Assistant for a research project entitled “Clean Air Catalyst” funded by the World Resources Institute (WRI). The duration for these posts will initially be six months, which will be extended to be co-terminus with the project. The selected candidates will be paid Rs. 20,000/- to 31,000/-. The age limit for these jobs will be 30 years. The selection process will be based on interviews. About IISER: IISERs were created through the Ministry of Education, Government of India proclamation to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.

Detailed Eligibility – IISER Bhopal Vacancy:
Education Qualification:
Project Title: “National Carbonaceous Aerosols Programme COALESCE: Carbonaceous Aerosol Emissions, Source apportionment and Climate impacts”
Junior Research Fellow:
Minimum Qualification:
- A post-graduate degree (BS-MS, MSc, M.Tech) in Atmospheric Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- The candidate should preferably have a fundamental knowledge of atmospheric aerosols, specifically aerosol chemistry, its chemical analysis methods and optical characteristics.
- In addition to minimum qualification, a National level examination like the National Eligibility Test (NET)/CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF/INSPIRE-Ph.D/GATE/Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship or any other Fellowship is mandatory.
Desirable:
- This position will be centred on field sampling, chemical analyses and aerosol source apportionment.
- Prior experience in operating instruments such as particulate matter air samplers, nephelometers, transmissometers, and weather stations is highly desirable.
- The candidate should be experienced in handling Ion-Chromatography, EC-OC analyzer, ED-XRF, and OT-21 for chemical analyses.
- Experience with factor analysis, including chemical mass balance and positive matrix factorization for atmospheric aerosols, is valuable.
- The position requires excellent English communication (oral and written) skills.
Project Title: “Clean Air Catalyst” funded by the World Resources Institute (WRI).
Lab Assistant:
Minimum Qualification:
- B.Sc. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Physics or other Science disciplines with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute.
Research Experience:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience with PM filter weighing aerosol laboratory chemical analysis with IC (Ion Chromatography), OCEC analyzer, ICP-OES, or GC-MS. Data analysis of aerosol measurement will be an added advantage.
Duration: Initially for six months, extendable to be co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.
Age limit(As on 30 March 2024):
- Applicant should not have completed 30 years
Salary:
- Junior Research Fellow – Rs. 31,000 pm + HRA
- Lab Assistant – Rs. 20,000 pm + 16% HRA
