Educational Qualification:

Research Analyst:

Essential:

Master’s Degree with a First Division in Science/Technology/ Social Sciences and allied fields such as public policy, international relations, strategic affairs, and development studies is essential
Preference shall be given to candidates who have a background in the respective fields and have completed an M.Phil. or Ph.D. in the desired area

Preferred:

Candidates with longer research experience and better educational qualifications.
Candidates who have completed a doctorate in a related subject and have published peer-reviewed work of high-order
Candidates with requisite work and research experience in think tanks, research institutes or universities

Professional Experience: Research experience in a think tank and published papers in respective areas of research matters

Desired Skill set:

Keen interest in analysing current national and international affairs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to attend to detail
Work under strict deadlines
Flair for teamwork

Duration:

For a two-year term including a probationary period of initial six months from the date of joining the Institute.
Fresh term may be granted if applied for and subject to suitability assessed by the Institute. This will not confer any right of permanence.

Library cum Information Officer:

Essential:

Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from any recognised university/ institute.
Computer Knowledge of MS- Office and library software.

Desirable: PhD / M Phil Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation from any recognised university/institute.

Professional Experience:

Experience of at least 10 years in a managerial capacity in a library of any recognised university/institution of higher learning/library of a reputed research organisation.
Skilled in the usage of advanced library management software. Experience in managing hybrid library with vast knowledge of at least electronic resources/databases, use of modern information tools and experience in providing top-grade research-oriented library services.
Excellent communication skills.

Duration: For a fixed term of three years, including a probationary period of initial six months from the date of joining the Institute and this will not confer any right of permanence

Assistant Section Officer:

Essential:

Graduate/ Masters from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum 55% marks.
Minimum 08 years of administrative/similar experience in establishment.
Proficiency in computer especially MS Office, Excel and Internet etc.

Duration:

For a term of three years including a probationary period of initial six months from the date of joining the Institute
May be considered for fresh contract on completion of the tenure, based on performance and institute’s requirements, however, this will not confer any right of permanence

Special Assistant:

Essential:

Graduate from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum of 55% marks.
Minimum five years of experience as stenographer/ Personal Secretary in a reputed firm or govt. office.
Diploma/ certificate course from a reputed institute on subjects of stenography, shorthand, and related subjects.
Good working knowledge of computers, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Hindi / Devanagari Typing (preferable).
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Duration: For a fixed term of three years including a probationary period of initial six months from the date of joining the Institute and this will not confer any right of permanence

Age Limit (As on 06 September 2024):

Research Analyst: Not More than 35 years (As on 01 September 2024)
Library cum Information Officer: Not more than 50 years
Assistant Section Officer: Not more than 40 years
Special Assistant: Not more than 40 years

Age Relaxation:

Age relaxation is applicable as per the govt. norms for reserved category candidates.
PwD candidates applying against UR vacancies are allowed age relaxation as applicable to UR (PwD) only.

Selection Process of IDSA Careers:

For Research Analyst:
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews at MP-IDSA, Delhi
For Library cum Information Officer:
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend written/skill test and interview at MP-IDSA, Delhi
For Assistant Section Officer:
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and interview at MP-IDSA, Delhi
For Special Assistant:
- Shortlisted Candidates will be called for a written/skill test of stenography (at a speed of 80 w.p.m. in English shorthand and for the transcription of the same on computer at the rate of 40 w.p.m) and interview at Delhi.
