There are 03 roles in various departments. Out of the 03, 02 roles are exclusively for freshers (Lower Division Clerk/Research Assistant). Detailed Eligibility – ICSSR Vacancy:
Educational Qualification:
Lower Division Clerk:
- Higher Secondary or Equivalent
- Should have a minimum typing speed of 30 w.p.m.
Research Assistant:
- M.A. with at least 50% marks in any social sciences discipline.
Assistant Director (Research):
- A Master’s Degree with high second class in any Social Science discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- At least three years experience in teaching, research in the Social Science area and/or three years of experience of research administration in a reputed organization.
- Computer Literacy is desirable.

Selection Process of ICSSR Vacancy:
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in Computer Based Test and Written Examination.
- The decision of ICSSR about the mode of selection to the above posts and eligibility conditions of the applicants for interview shall be final and binding.
- There will be no interview for the post of Research Assistant and Lower Division Clerk
Scheme of Examination – Lower Division Clerk
- For the position of Lower Division Clerk, candidates have to qualify the written test and computer-based test. Those who qualify for the written test will be called for the Typing Test. However, the typing test will be qualifying.
- Assessment will be done based on written test and computer-based test & not on the speed obtained in the typing test.
- The minimum qualifying marks will be 50% of the maximum marks in each paper.
- In case of SC/ST/OBC candidates, the qualifying marks will be 45% of the maximum marks in each paper.
- There will be two papers (Objective Type and Descriptive Type). There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

- Skill Test/ Typing Test for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the ICSSR or its authorized agency.
- 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi. Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
- Errors in the Skill Test be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
Scheme of Examination – Research Assistant
- The merit list for the position of Research Assistant will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the computer based test (Paper-1 (Part-A & Part-B)) and written test (Paper-2) only.

Scheme of Examination – Assistant Director
- The final merit list for the position of Assistant Director (Research) will be based on the performance of the candidates in computer based test (Paper-1 (Part-A & Part-B)), written test (Paper-2) and interview. )
- The category-wise minimum level of suitability in interview for the position of Assistant Director (Research) will be UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, SC/ST/PwD-40 marks, out of the total marks of interview being 100.
- The candidate will have to achieve minimum suitability in their respective category at the interview stage.
- The ratio of weightage of marks in the computer-based test and written test and marks in the interview will be 75:25

Apprentices:
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science with at least 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute passed in the year 2021 or later.
- Six-Month Certificate Diploma in Computer Application.
Note: Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training/Job in any institute/organization are not eligible to apply. The Candidates who have passed the degree or M.Lib.Sc. before 2021 are not eligible only those candidates are eligible to apply who have passed the degree of M.Lib.Sc. in the year 2021 or later.
Duration: The period of training will be 12 months commencing from execution of the contract of joining.
