About HBCSE: The genesis of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) can be traced to the late 1960s when some scientists at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) got interested in the problem of improving the quality of science education in the country. These scientists, on a voluntary basis, undertook programs in the schools of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and in rural Madhya Pradesh. As the activities grew, a strong need was felt for institutional support, to systematically carry out field projects, do relevant basic research in science education, and bring out good educational materials.

Educational Qualification:
Project Scientific Officer- E:
- Ph.D. in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Science/ Mathematics Education or a related field from a recognized University/Institute.
- 7 years experience in the field of educational material development, teaching, education research, social or developmental projects, post Ph.D
Desirable Qualification & Experience:
- The candidate should be proficient in writing in English, and in any Indian language such as Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, etc.
- Good communication skills and an interest in local practices, cultures, and diversity in the country.
- Willingness to undertake extensive fieldwork and travel to schools in different locations in Maharashtra and nearby states.
- Candidates with prior experience in leading material development, teacher education, and field teaching projects in an educational setup or those with additional degrees in education will be given preference.
- The candidate should be familiar with word processing and data analysis software. Basic content competency in science and mathematics is also expected.
Project Scientific Assistant- B (Vigyan Pratibha Project):
- Full-time B.Sc./ B.S. (in any stream of Science or Mathematics) from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
- 0 – 1 year post qualification experience in the field of educational material development, teaching, education research and social or developmental projects.
Desirable Qualification & Experience:
- M.Sc. (in any stream of Science or Mathematics) with an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA with an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in Graduation.
- The candidate should have an experience in teaching/ scientific writing/ development of educational activities; basic knowledge of common word processing and data analysis software such as MS-Office, Libre-office, etc.
- Good proficiency in the English language and writing skills in English and/or any other Indian language.
- Ability to engage with the learning needs of Indian students.
- Ability to work with rigorous scientific and mathematical content.
Project Scientific Assistant- B (NIUS Astronomy Cell):
- Full-time B.Sc./ B.S. (Physics, Electronics, Astronomy/ Astrophysics, or other equivalent subjects) from a recognized University/Institute with an aggregate of at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Knowledge of use of personal computers and its applications.
- 0 – 2 years experience as per the requirement
Desirable Qualification & Experience:

- 0-2 years experience in the relevant domain.
Desirable qualification & Experience:
- M.Sc.
