Project: Promoting medicinal plant cultivation for conservation and livelihood upliftment of rural people in Hawalbagh and Takula Blocks of District Almora, Uttarakhand.
Young Professional:
- First-class Master’s Degree in Botany/ Forestry/Horticulture/Environmental Science from a recognised University
- Desirable:
- Knowledge about the medicinal plants of Uttarakhand and their cultivation.
- Knowledge of MS Office along with Hindi/English typing experience.
- Working experience in the Himalayan region
Age Limit: 35 Years
Age Relaxation: Relaxation in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/Women/ Physically handicapped candidates as per rules.
Salary: Rs. 14,000/-

Scientist-C:
- Master‘s Degree in Natural Science or Agricultural Master‘s Degree in Natural Science or Agricultural Science
Science - Bachelor‘s Degree in Engineering or Technology in a relevant discipline. 3 years experience
- Bachelor‘s Degree in Medicine. 3 years experience
- Doctorate in Natural Science or Agricultural Science or Technology or Engineering
- Desirable: Programming Languages (Scripting Languages, Logic Programming Languages, Imperative Programming), data management and processing, visualization, Big Data analytics, Data mining and
data curation.
MTS: Matriculation or equivalent pass
Age Limit(As on 04 October 2023):
- Scientist-C: 35 Years
- MTS: 18 -25 Years
Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxations up to 50 years in appointments on Group C posts under administrative, technical and support staff categories to the candidates working NIHE on contractual basis for more than ten years; in case of casual labourer (TS), age relaxation equivalent to the period for which they have worked continuously as a casual labourer.
- Relaxation in age limit will be allowed as per the Govt. of India orders applicable from time to time
- The upper age limit for Government Servants shall be relaxable by five years in accordance with the orders issued by Central Government from time to time.
Salary:
- Scientist-C: Rs. 67700 – 208700/-
- MTS: Rs. 18000-56900/-

Selection Process
- The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee for the Scientific post will be called for an interview.
- The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee for Group-C (MTS) post will be called for the test(s).

- Application fee (non-refundable) of Rs. 500/- should be paid in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Director, G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (NIHE), payable at Almora.
- Payments of fee from any other mode shall not be entertained. No fee will be charged from ST/ PwD & female candidates
