DRDO CHESS Careers -Detailed Eligibility:
Education Qualification:
Research Associate ((Physics/Applied Optics/ Laser Technology, Laser, Adaptive Optics / Photonics):
- Ph.D or equivalent degree (in Engineering or Science) in the area of Customized Optical System Design/ Atmospheric turbulence correction/adaptive optics. OR
- Having 3 year of research, teaching or design and development experience after ME / M.Tech (ECE/EEE/Applied Physics/ Control system)
- Desirable: Experience in Optics / related areas.
- Note: Candidate with having knowledge in Programming language MATLAB, LabVIEW, Zemax, Python etc. along with desired skills will be given preference
Research Associate (Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science):
- Ph.D or equivalent degree (in Engineering or Science) in the area of Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer Science. OR
- Having 3 year of research, teaching or design and development experience after ME / M.Tech (ECE/ Instrumentation / Computer Science)
- Desirable: Experience in Imaging system & Image Processing.
- Note: Candidate with having knowledge in Programming language MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python etc. along with desired skills will be given preference.
Junior Research Fellows (Mechanical Engineering):
- Graduate Degree in Professional Course (B.E/B.Tech) in relevant subject in first division with NET/GATE OR
- Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (M.E/M.Tech) in relevant subject with first division at both Graduate and post Graduate Level
Junior Research Fellows (Electronics Engineering):

Duration:
- Research Associate (RA): Research Associate will be awarded for a period of 2 (Two) years only.
- Junior Research Fellows (JRF): Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for a period of one year (year 3). SRF may again be extended for a period of one more year (Year 4) based on Performance.
Age Limit (29 September 2024):
- Research Associate (RA): 35 years
- Junior Research Fellows (JRF): 28 years
Stipend:
- Research Associate (RA): A monthly stipend of Rs. 67,000/- and residential accommodation will be provided. In case of nonavailability of accommodation, HRA will be paid as per admissible rules.
- Junior Research Fellows (JRF): A monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000/- and Residential Accommodation will be provided. In case accommodation is unavailable, HRA will be paid as per admissible rules.
