Detailed Eligibility for DME AP Vacancies:
Educational Qualification:
Assistant Professor in Broad Specialty:
- PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM) in the concerned speciality from the institutions recognized by MCI/NMC/DCI.
- One year senior residency after completion of PG.
Assistant Professor in Super Specialty:
- PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM) in the concerned speciality from the institutions recognized by MCI/NMC/DCI.
For The Candidates Applying Under Lateral Entry
Eligibility Criteria:
- Civil Assistant Surgeons working in Directorate of Public Health & Family Welfare or DSH (APVVP) are only eligible to apply.
- Assistant professors working in the Directorate of Medical Education are eligible to apply for the Assistant Professors in super specialties only.
- Candidate shall be an approved probationer or should have completed the probation period in the cadre of CAS/ Assistant Professor.
- There shall not be any disciplinary charges pending against the candidate and shall not be in unauthorized absence.
Age Limit:
- OC candidate should not have completed 42 years as on date of Notification (should not have been born before 01-07-1981).
- EWS/SC/ST/BC candidates should not have completed 47 years as on date of Notification (should not have been born before (01-07-1976)
- Physically disabled persons should not have completed 52 years as on date of Notification (should not have been born before (01-07-1971)

Salary: Salary will be paid as per the rules in force till the completion of the probation period. The 7th UGC Pay scales (G.O.Ms.No.22, HM & FW (A1)Dept., Dated 01.03.2021) will be applicable after the completion of the probation period.
Selection Process:
Selection Procedure For DR:
- Selection will be based on merit and rule of reservation
- A merit list will be prepared for all the candidates who applied and fulfilled all the eligibility conditions.
- Selection lists will be prepared based on merit lists and roster points as per the Rules of Reservation issued in AP State and Subordinate Services.
- Total Marks–100
- 75 marks are based on the marks/ grade obtained in the qualifying degree.
- For those who are not having PG marks memo or Grade, percentage of marks will be taken as 50%(50%x75=37.50)
- It is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain and submit marks memos from the competent authorities where ever grades instead of marks are issued.
- Regarding the Grades: (Marks will be considered as75%) (As per Govt Memo No. 4296/A1/2015, Dated 22.04.2015)
- Grade–A Distinction 75% to 85% mean 80%
- Grade–B+ Above Average 65% to 74% mean 70%
- Grade–B Pass 50% to 64% mean 57%
- 10 marks based on weightage for number of years since passing qualifying examination is upto10 marks @1 mark per PG/Completion of PG/Super-specialty completed year.
- Five weightage marks will be provided to the candidates who have completed PG/Super Specialty from Central Institutions.
- 15 Marks to the contract service rendered in Government institutions
Selection Procedure for LE:
- Merit list will be prepared based on the rank given by the respective appointing authority at the time of recruitment as CAS / Assistant professor.
- Selection list will be prepared based on merit and the rule of reservation applicable to the promotions as per AP state and subordinate service rules.
