Engineers through GATE โ€“ 2023 Scores

Educational Qualification and Degreeย 

  • B.Tech/B.E/Equivalent obtained as Full-time Regular course from Institutions/ Colleges/ Universities/ Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC in anyone of the following disciplines
  • Chemical:ย First Class Graduate Degree in Engineering /Technology in Chemical / Petroleum / Petrochemicals with not less than 60% mark in aggregate of all semesters / years. SC/ST/PwBD candidates need to score a minimum 55% against reserved positions.
  • Mechanical:ย First Class Graduate Degree in Engineering /Technology in Mechanical with not less than 60% mark in aggregate of all semesters /years. SC/ST/PwBD candidates need to score a minimum 55% against reserved positions

Eligible Discipline (GATE 2023)ย  โ€“

  • Candidates must have qualified in the GATE 2023 examination from one of the followingdisciplines in order to be eligible to apply for the advertised posts: Chemical Engineering : (GATE 2023 code: CH), Mechanical Engineering : (GATE 2023 code: ME)
  • A candidate can apply in CPCL only from one of the aforesaid disciplines. In order to apply, the candidate must have qualified GATE 2023 examination from any one of the above disciplines and also done BE / B.Tech from the same discipline.
  • Qualifying in GATE 2023 from disciplines other than 02 (Two) disciplines mentioned above will not be accepted towards eligibility for the advertised post.
  • GATE marks of previous years (GATE 2022 or before) will not be accepted.

Candidates pursuing ME/M.Tech as Integrated course or Dual degree Course of BE / B.Tech Program

  • Engineering Degree can be B.E/ B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg (4 years duration). Candidates having 05 years B.E/ B. Tech+ M.E./ M. Tech. integrated dual degree in engineering in relevant discipline shall also be considered
  • Candidates who has completed Integrated ME/ M.Tech where separate degrees for BE/B. Tech and ME/M. Tech are awarded are eligible to apply, only if they have completed the course requirement for award of BE/ B.Tech
  • If a candidate who has completed integrated ME/M.Tech programme and is awarded two separate degrees i.e. BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech, then the percentage of marks/CGPA obtained by the candidates in BE/BTech only will be considered to determine the eligibility of the candidate

Service Bond: Candidates selected as Officer/Engineer will have to execute a bond to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of three years from the date of joining the corporation as under:

Selection Process of CPCL Jobs:

  • The selection shall be made through GATE 2023 Scores and Personal Interview of the short listed candidates for assessment of different facets of Knowledge, Skills, Attitude, Aptitude, etc.
  • Shortlisting for Personal Interview shall be done category-wise in descending order of their marks obtained in GATE 2023 examination for respective discipline.
  • Merely qualifying in GATE 2023 examination does not guarantee short-listing for Personal Interview.

Jr. Tech. Asstt-IV (F&S) Cat. 1- CPCL16:

  • Candidates will be appointed in the IDA Pay Scale of Rs. 25,000-1,05,000/- on a basic pay of
    Rs. 25,000/-ย  in Grade IV in Non-Supervisory cadre, subject to medical fitness. In addition to the Basic Pay, candidates selected will be entitled for DA, HRA / Self-Lease, PF, Gratuity, LTC / LFA, Reimbursement of Medical expenses, Superannuation benefits, etc., as per the rules of the Corporation.

  • Candidates will be appointed in the IDA Pay Scale of Rs. 25,000-1,05,000/- in Grade IV in Non-Supervisory cadre, subject to medical fitness. Selection Process of CPCL Jobs:

  • The selection methodology will comprise an Online Test and a Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT) followed by verification of certificates of the shortlisted candidates. The SPPT will be of a qualifying nature.
  • Admit cards for the Online Test will be issued to all prima-facie eligible candidates on the basis of the details furnished in Online-Application form
  • Scrutiny of documents submitted by the candidates will be carried out post Online Test.
  • Short listed candidates, in the ratio of 1:2 (two candidates for one post, with due cognizance to number of reserved posts) subject to securing minimum qualifying marks in the online test, will be required to undergo a Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT).

Online Test:

  • The online test shall be for 120 marks of two parts viz., General Aptitude (Verbal Ability, G.K,
    Reasoning / Logical Deductions & Numerical Ability) comprising of 50 Questions and concerned discipline knowledge with 70 Questions.
  • ยผ mark per wrong answer per question shall be deducted.
  • The questions shall be objective type Multiple Choice Questions with total time duration of 2 hours.
