Chennai Customs Recruitment 2023 notification announced for Halwai-cum-Cook/Clerk/Canteen Attendant/Staff Car Driver. There are a total of about 17 vacancies available in the above-mentioned posts. Candidates with the 10th/12th pass qualification can apply for the jobs. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the job through postal before 30 June 2023. Detailed Eligibility :
Educational Qualification (As on 30 June 2023):
Halwai-cum-Cook:
- 10th class pass with certificate or Diploma in Catering
- Experience:- Two years in a Government Department Undertaking.
- A Trade Skill Test for cooking shall be conducted to assess suitability of the candidate.
Clerk:
- 12th Class pass or equivalent with Commerce from a recognized University or Board.
- A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a Computer (35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponds to 10500 key depression per hour or 9000 key depression per hour on an average of 5 key depression for each word.
Canteen Attendant: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board
Staff Car Driver(Ordinary Grade:
- Possession of a valid Driving License for Motor Cars;
- Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (the candidate should be able to femove minor-defects in vehicle);
- Experience of driving a Motor Car for at least three years; and
- 10″ class pass from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Age Limit ( As on 30 June 2023 ):
- Halwai-cum-Cook/Clerk/Canteen Attendant: 18-25 years
- Staff Car Driver: 18-27 years
Age Relaxation:
- Central Government Civilian Employee Relaxable for Government Servants upto the age of 40 years by the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time.
- Ex-Serviceman 3 years beyond the upper age limit after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age, as on closing date.
- OBC (as per Central List of OBCs) 3 years against reserved posts as on closing date.
- SC / ST 5 years against reserved posts as of closing date.
Salary:
- Halwai-cum-Cook: Rs.21,700- 69,100/- of 7 th CPC
- Clerk: Rs.19,900- 63,200/- of 7th CPC
- Canteen Attendant: Rs.18,000- 56,900/- of 7th CPC
- Staff Car Driver: Rs.19,900- 63,200/- of 7th CPC

Selection Process:
- A Trade Skill Test for cooking to assess the suitability of the candidate as specified under (c) of Essential Qualification relating to the post of Halwai- um-Cook
- Typing Examination as specified under (b) of Essential Qualification relating to the post of Clerk
- Suitable Skill Test relating to the post of Canteen Attendant.
- The referred Trade / Skill Test / Typing Test results.
- A Test in the knowledge of Motor Mechanism (the candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle);
- The further selection process.will be available in Chennai Customs Website, and the said tests will be conducted only in Chennai.
