Chandigarh Police Recruitment 2024: Chandigarh Police has announced the Constable(Executive) โ€“ IT for Chandigarh Police Careers.ย  The education qualification should be B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/BCA/MCA. There are 144 Vacancies to be filled. Recruitment to Constables (Executive) posts in any given year shall be done by direct recruitment through competitive examination. Chandigarh Police Recruitment Introduction:

This Standing Order (SO) deals with the direct recruitment to the post of Constables (Executive)(IT), both male and female, in Chandigarh Police. The recruitment would be done by a Recruitment Board duly constituted by the Director General of Police. The SO will govern the entire recruitment process and contain the provisions under which the recruitment process will be carried out. The DGP would be the final authority to remove any difficulty in the recruitment process under this Standing Order. The Last date to apply for the post is 13 February 2024.

Constable (Executive)(IT):

Constable(Executive) โ€“ IT shall mean a post of Constable having technical expertise as per different domain specializations in the Executive Cadre of Chandigarh Police (including India Reserve Battalion) in the pay scale of Rs.217oo-691oo in level-3 of 7th CPC and allowances as applicable and as may be amended from time to time. This post is classified as a Group โ€œCโ€ by the Chandigarh Administration for Chandigarh Police Careers. The DGP shall thereafter decide on the number of vacancies to be filled by Constables (ExecutiveXfl), depending on the functional requirement and the availability of training infrastructure, subject to the condition that a maximum of 5% of the sanctioned posts of Constable (Executive) shall be filled by Constables (Executive)(IT).

Detailed Eligibility for Chandigarh Police Careers:

Constable(Executive) โ€“ IT:

  • Bachelor (Minimum three years)/Master (Minimum 2 years) degree in the fields of Computer Science/Electronics/Instrumentation/ Communication/Information Technology/Mechatronics/Computer Applications/data sciences/Computer Sciences and allied From any University/Institution recognized by Central/State Government and /or approved by AICTE/UGC; or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) Section A and B) in Computer Science.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in any field, and Minimum 1-years diploma/ course in OSINT/related platforms. from any University/Institution recognized by the Central/State Government and/ or approved by AICTE/UGC.
  • A valid Driving License issued by the Licensing Authority to drive throughout the territorial jurisdiction of India, a โ€œMotor Vehicleโ€ of the following classesโ€ โ€œMotor Cycleโ€ AND โ€œMotor Carโ€. is certified that license for โ€œLight Motor Vehicleโ€ and โ€œTransport Vehicleโ€ being a heavier class than Motor Carโ€. Shall be deemed to fulfil the conditions of โ€œMotor Carโ€, but such applicants must be licensed to drive a โ€ Motor Cycle also.

Driving And Computer Skills:

Driving Skills:



  • Driving skills are now an integral part of the skill set required for the post of Constable (Exe). Their candidature shall be validated only if they accept this stipulation in the application process.
  • Therefore, a valid driving license to drive both two-wheelers and four-wheel vehicles is mandatory for candidates of all categories as of the online application submission date.
  • However, this condition may be waived by the DGP/IGP in case of women in any given recruitment as a special case to widen the base pool of female candidates.

Computer Skills: The ICT course is mandatory at entry-level per instructions issued by the Chandigarh Administration vide letter No.28/69{H(12)/Pers.&Trg-zor g/V927 dated 25.11.2o19

Age Limit(23 January 2024):ย 

The age limit should be

  • 18-25 years (General Category)
  • 18-28 years (OBC Category)
  • 18-30 years (SC Category)

Age Relaxation:

  • Relaxation upto the maximum age of 45 years for Ex-servicemen as on the cut-off date prescribed for the recruitment, i.e. 23.01.2024
  • Departmental candidates of Chandigarh Police upto 40 years as on 23.01.2024

Selection Process:

Written Test/CBT Test/OMR Sheet Based Test :

  • All candidates [including ex-servicemen] shall be put through a written test/Computer-based Test/OMR sheet-based test, consisting of Tier-I and Tier-II.
  • Tier-I Test shall carry 100 marks.
  • They shall include questions on :
    • General Knowledge/ Current Affairs
    • Reasoning Numerical Ability
  • Tier-II Test, carrying 50 marks, shall test the proficiency of candidates in their area of specialization.
  • The questions shall be multiple choice objective types and will carry one mark for every correct answer and a negative mark of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
  • The question paper for the written test shall be in Hindi, English and Punjabi.
  • Each candidate will be given the test paper only in the language selected by the candidate during the application process.
  • Change of medium will not be permitted.

The minimum qualifying cut-off marks in the Tier-I test for each category shall be as follows :

  • General Candidates- 40%
  • SC Candidates- 35%
  • OBC Candidates- 35%
  • Ex-Servicemen Candidates 30%
  • However, the DGP may lower the cutoff marks if the requisite number of candidates have not qualified.
  • Only those candidates who score the above-mentioned qualifying marks in Tier-I shall be eligible for evaluation of their Tier-II Test.
  • After the written test, shortlisted candidates will be called for PEMT @10 times for each category of candidates in merit order.

Standards for Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT):

Physical Endurance Tests include the high jump and long jump. The measurement tests include hight and chest measurements.

Bonus Marks:

Male candidates with a height of 183 cm or above 02
Female candidates have a height of 165 cm or above. 02
For Hill Areas candidates:-
