CGPDTM Recruitment 2023 – Ministry of Commerce and Industries / Office of the Controller General Patents,Designs and Trademarks recruitment notification for the post of Consultant, Senior Research Associate, Research Associate,Young Professionals in various disciplines.There are totally 16 vacancies are going to be filled.Candidates with the qualification of B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/M.A/MBA/PhD in sciences or law can apply for these positions.The selection will be based on written test/interview.Eligible candidates can apply for the post through the website http://www.ipindia.nic.in. About CGPDTM :
The Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM) is located at Mumbai. The Head Office of the Patent office is at Kolkata and its Branch offices are located at Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai. The Trade Marks registry is at Mumbai and its Branches are located in Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and New Delhi. The Design Office is located at Kolkata in the Patent Office. The Offices of The Patent Information System (PIS) and National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (NIIPM) are at Nagpur. In order to protect the Geographical Indications of goods a Geographical Indications Registry has been established in Chennai to administer the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999 under the CGPDTM.

Detailed Eligibility:
Consultant:
- Essential Qualification – Master degree in sciences or LLM or BE/BTech from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed institution.
- Desirable Qualification – PhD in sciences or IPR management or MTech, MS Experience – at least 15 years in handling IPR matters.
- Experience – at least 15 years in handling IPR matters.
Senior Research Associate:
- Essential Qualification – (a) Master degree in sciences or BE/BTech from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed 2 institution and (b) LLB/LLM or Degree/Diploma in IPR (full time – at least 1 year)
- Desirable Qualification – PhD in sciences or law or IPR management or MTech or M.S.
- Experience – at least 8 years in handling IPR matters.
Research Associate:
- Essential Qualification – (a) Master degree in sciences or BE/BTech from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed institution and (b) LLB/LLM or Degree/Diploma in IPR (full time – at least 1 year)
- Desirable Qualification – (a) PhD in sciences or law or IPR management or MTech, MS (b) Knowledge of High Quality MS Office, Power Point Presentations, Professional presentations with graphs, info- graphical displays, Trend analysis and other data governance and quality assessment software tools, etc. would be preferred.
- Experience – at least 3 years in handling IPR matters.
Young Professional (Economics & Data Management)
- Essential – Master degree in Economics/Statistics from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed institution.
- Desirable – PhD in relevant field.
- Experience – at least 1 year relevant research experience.
Young Professional (IT- AI, ML)
- Essential Qualification – BE/BTech (Electronics & Communications/ CS/ IT) with specialized knowledge in Artificial 3 Intelligence/ Quantum Computing/ IoT/ ML /any other relevant areas.
- Desirable Qualification –MTech in relevant field.
- Experience – at least 1 year relevant experience.
Young Professional (Public Policy)
- Essential Qualification – Bachelor degree in any discipline and Master degree/diploma in public policy and equivalent from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed institution with domain knowledge in required areas.
- Desirable Qualification- Knowledge in the field of IPR would be preferred.
- Experience – at least 1 year relevant experience preferably in government department/institution/office.
Young Professional (Media & Communication)
- Essential Qualification – M.A./Post Graduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
- Desirable – Knowledge in the field of content visualization & graphics, creative work and media outreach would be preferred.
- Experience –at least 1 year relevant experience.
Young Professional (Finance)
- Essential Qualification – MBA or PGDM (full time – 2 years course) in the discipline of Finance from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed Institution.
- Desirable – Higher qualification in the field of finance would be preferred.
- Experience – at least 1 year relevant experience preferably in a government department/institution/office.
Young Professional (HR)
- Essential Qualification – MBA or PGDM (Full time 2 years course) or master degree in the discipline of HR and/or administration from institute of national importance or equivalent reputed Institution.

Selection Process for CGPDTM Recruitment 2023
Consultant:
- Candidates who have applied may be screened for meeting the requirements of Essential Educational Qualification and the prescribed Experience and those who fulfil the criteria of essential educational qualification and experience may be called for interview and the selection may be based on their performance in the interview.
- The interview may be for 50 marks.The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Consultant will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview and verification of documents submitted by the candidates.
- The minimum percentage of marks to qualify in the interview for selection will be 60%.The final merit list will be valid for one year.
Senior Research Associate/Research Associate:
- Selection for the post of Senior Research Associate and Research Associate will be done through an interview. All eligible candidates who have successfully submitted online applications for the post of Senior Research Associate and Research Associate and their applications have been scrutinized will be called for an interview.
- The final selection of eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Senior Research Associate and Research Associate will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview and verification of documents submitted by the candidates.
- The minimum percentage of marks to qualify in the interview for selection will be 50%. In case the selected candidate to whom the offer of appointment has been given fails to join the post within the given time or resigns after joining, the offer of appointment will be given to next candidate in the merit list. The final merit list will be valid for 1 year.
Young Professionals:
- Selection will be done through a written examination for shortlisting of candidates for appearing in interview and an interview for final selection and offer of appointment to the post of Young Professionals. All eligible candidates who have successfully submitted online applications for Young Professionals and their applications have been scrutinized shall be called for a written examination.
- The written examination shall be of 100 marks for 2 hours. Scheme of written examination shall be Objective type. There shall be a total of 100 objective type Questions. Every question will carry 1(one) mark and there will not be any negative marking for wrong answer.
- The minimum percentage to qualify the written examination will be 40%. A merit list of the qualified candidates will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination for the interview. A separate merit list of the candidates qualified in the written examination will be prepared for each category of the Young Professionals.
- The interview will be for 50 marks and an offer of appointment will be based on the final merit list prepared based on the marks obtained in interview and the marks obtained in written examination will be considered only for shortlisting the candidates to be called for interview.To the post of Young Professionals, minimum percentage to qualify in the interview will be 50%. The final merit list will be valid for 1 year.

- The written examination and/or interview will be conducted at the O/o Controller General of Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Geographical Indications, Boudhik Sampada Bhavan, S. M. Road, Antop Hill, Mumbai – 400 037, Maharashtra. In case of any change in venue for written examination and interview, the same will be communicated accordingly.
