Central GST & Customs Recruitment 2024:ย The Central Tax, Central Excise and Customs, invites applications for recruitment of meritorious sports persons posts โ€“ Tax Assistant/Havaldar/Stenographer Gr-II/Canteen Attendant in all 65 sports disciplines notified by the DoP&T. There are 08 vacancies available for this job. Candidates withย Any Degree/12th/10th qualifications are eligible to apply. Detailed Eligibility for Central GST & Customs Careers:

Educational Qualification:

Tax Assistant:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent; and
  • Possess a data entry speed of not less than 8000 key depressions per hour for data entry work.
  • Should have basic knowledge in the use of computer applications.

Note: The speed of 8000 key depressions per hour for data entry work is to be examined by conducting a speed test on the electronic data processing machine.

Stenographer Gr-II:

  • 12th class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Skill Test Norms

Dictation:ย 

  • 10 Minutes @ 80 words per minute.
  • Transcription: 50 Minutes (English: 65 minutes), (Hindi); (on computer)

Havaldar:ย Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized Board

Canteen Attendant:ย Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.



Sports Eligibility:ย The proficiency will be evaluated only based on forms and certificates submitted for participation in recognized tournaments/events in the calendar years 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, and 2020 for which details should be furnished in Annexure 1. Certificates of participation/achievements for which concerned forms issued by concerned Authorities are not enclosed, will not be considered for evaluating the proficiency. The tournaments/events will be evaluated in the following descending order of importance.

  • First preference to those candidates who have represented the country in an International Competition with the clearance of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Next preference may be given to those who have represented a State/U.T. in the Senior or Junior level National Championships organized by the National Sports Federations recognized by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports or National Games organized by Indian Olympics Association and have won medals or positions upto 3rd place. Between the candidates participating in Senior and Junior National Championships/games, the candidates who have participated and won medals in the Senior National Championship should be given
    preference.
  • Next preference may be given to those, who have represented a University in an Inter-University competition conducted by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter-University Sports Board Or Khelo India University Games conducted with authorization of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and have won medals or positions upto 3rd place in finals.
  • Next preference may be given to those who have represented a State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years) or Khelo India Winter Games or Khelo India Para Games conducted with authorization of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and have won medals or positions upto 3rd place in finals.
  • Next preference may be given to those who have represented the State Schools in the National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
  • Next preference may be given to those who represented a State/Union Territory/University/State Schools Teams at the level mentioned in categories but could not win a medal or position, in the same order of preference.

Age Limit (As on 01 December 2024):

  • Tax Assistant/Stenographer Gr-II/Havaldar:ย 18 to 27 years
  • Canteen Attendant:ย 18 to 25 years

Age Relaxation:ย Upto 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates and relaxation up to 40 years for Government Servants by the instructions or orders
issued by the Central Government from time to time.

Salary Details:

  • Tax Assistant:ย Rs. 25,500/- to 81,100/- (Level 4)
  • Stenographer Gr-II: Rs. 25,500/- to 81,100/- (Level 4)
  • Havaldar:ย Rs. 18,000/- to 56,900/- (Level 1)
  • Canteen Attendant: Rs. 18,000/- to 56,900/- (Level 1)

Selection Process for Central GST & Customs Careers:

  • The applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process.
  • The eligible candidates will have to appear in the field test relevant to the Sports discipline.
  • Field trials will be conducted to check the fitness levels and performance of the candidates.
  • Field trials will carry marks and will also be counted for ranking purposes.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test.
  • The written examination for the post of Tax Assistant/Stenographer/Havaldar/Canteen Attendant will be in
    English/Hindi and will consist of objective type multiple choice questions in General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical/Quantitative Aptitude, General English and General Awareness.
  • Written test is purely qualifying in nature.
  • The candidates applying for Tax Assistants posts will be required to take a data entry test for 15 minutes.
  • The candidates applying for the post of Stenographer Gr-II will be required to take skill test for stenography as per prescribed norms.
  • For the recruitment to the post of Havaldar, there would be a physical test.
  • Based on the aggregate marks obtained in the field trials and merit certificates, the candidates will be ranked for selection.
  • The field trials and written exam will be held in Kochi. The selected candidates will be required to appear for the same at their own expenses on the dates and time to be informed later.
