About Captain of Ports Department Goa: The state of Goa has about 555 kms. of Inland Waterways out of which only 255 kms. are navigable through the Rivers Mandovi, Zuari and their tributaries. Out of their total length the better part is being used by the mining and export Industry for transportation of Iron ore to the port of Mormugao and Panaji outer anchorage, from the loading points in the hinterlands. If these waterways are properly harnessed, they will provide quick and economical transportation facilities for both passengers and cargo traffic.

Detailed Eligibility:
Educational Qualification:
Junior Instructor (Engine room):
- Certificate of Competency as Inland Engineer or E.R.A. (from the Indian Navy) not below the rank of petty Knowledge of Konkani.
- Desirable: Experience as Instructor in similar establishments. Knowledge of Marathi.
Lighthouse Keeper:
- I.T.I. Certificate in Electrician Course. 2 years experience in the line. Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.
Store-Keeper cum-Tool Room Operator:
- Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Council for Technical Education approved Diploma awarded by a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution. Knowledge of Konkani.
- Desirable:- Certificate in Diesel Mechanic from recognized industrial Training Institution with two years experience in handling of tools and maintenance stores. Knowledge of Marathi.
Lower Division Clerk:
- Possessing Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Council for Technical Education approved Diploma awarded by a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Knowledge of Computer applications/operations with typing speed of 30 words per minute in English. Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: i) Knowledge of Marathi.
Electrician:
- I.T.I Wireman’s Certificate or equivalent from a recognized Institution having, atleast 2 years practical experience in wiring of electrical Machines OR Licence holder in wiring of electrical machines with 3 years experience as Electrician. Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: i) Knowledge of Marathi.
Multitasking Staff:
- Passed Secondary School Certificate Examination from a recognized Board/Institution. OR Passed Course conducted by Industrial Training Institute or equivalent qualification, in relevant trade, from a recognized institution. Knowledge of Konkani.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi. Multi-tasking skills such as knowledge of operating office machines including computers.
